| Monster Jam Summer Tour at Ocala Speedway | by BJ Cavin
Racing has ceased at Florida's famed Ocala Speedway for one week in order to make way for the biggest and most exciting show of the season, the 2008 Monster Jam Summer Tour! And headlining this year's edition of Monster Jam will be the world famous GRAVE DIGGER, back by overwhelming popular demand! Along with Grave Digger there will be a full field of the other Monster Trucks that you see on TV, doing four full shows over the course of the weekend. Other trucks appearing may include, but are not limited to War Wizard, Stone Crusher, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Monster truck fans covet tickets to the Ocala Speedway Monster Jam shows because they offer a unique and "up close" look at the wildly popular, alcohol burning monster machines that the large stadium shows cannot offer. Fans are treated to an exciting show on the infield and front stretch that allows these huge machines to go faster, fly higher, and create more excitement. Not only are the fans far closer to the action at Ocala Speedway, but the trucks have far more room in which to operate as they race and do free style events. Autograph and photo sessions with the drivers are also available at each show.
Tickets are only $12 and can be purchased through TicketMaster, Wishful Thinking Western World in Ocala, or through the Ocala Speedway ticket office. Shows will be at 7:30PM on Friday and Saturday, May 2nd and 3rd. There will be two matinee shows at 2PM on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th. Gates will open one hour before show times, but it is recommended that fans arrive earlier because there is no reserved seating.
Racing will return to Ocala Speedway on Friday, May 9th for Mother's Night. Mini Stock drivers get ready because your $1000 to win race will be the highlight feature! Also on the card are the Late Models, V8 Thunder Stocks, and Gladiators. And as an added extra, spectator racing will be back at Ocala Speedway for the first time on clay!
