Roger Crouse takes Limited Late Model Feature with Last Lap Pass
By Jason Loughren

The first night of a two night racing weekend kicked off in grand style Friday night with 124 cars in the pits at Eastbay Raceway Park. Three of the track classes took to the track along with the StormPay.com Crate Late Models.

In the Limited Late Models Forrest Gough had the car to beat all night long as he was looking for another feature win to cap off his season. Gough led many of the early caution filled laps and was able to hold off the field during the numerous restarts. Roger Crouse started in the 15th position and raced his way to the front of the field.

Gough led the race at the white flag but was not able to hold off the charge of Roger Crouse. Crouse used a last lap pass to take the win in exciting fashion. Gough finished 2nd. Tim Gay was 3rd. Jeremy Simpson and J.R. Prather Jr. rounded out the top 5. Bruce Harvey and Gough won the heat races.

Nineteen Street Stocks hit the track for their 15-lap feature event. Charlie Paris, Jr. started in the 12th position and was looking for his track leading 13th feature win of the season. David Strickland got out to the early lead. Buck Skinner started in the 5th position and quickly made his way to the front of the pack.

Skinner took the win holding off the charge of Charlie Paris, Jr who finished in the 2nd position. Dave Floyd finished 3rd. Steven Johnson ran in the top-5 most of the night and finished 4th. Strickland finished 5th. Strickland and Paris, Jr. won the heat races.

The Outlaw-4ís were the final class of the evening. Chad Rose, Cecil Martin and Matt Haynes battled for the lead early. As the laps were winding down Haynes bounced off of the turn-3 wall and rolled his car onto its roof. Rose took the lead after the restart and took the white flag with Shane Burrows running 2nd. Roseís car lost power on the backstretch giving the lead and eventually the win to Buurrows. Mavrick Varnadore finished 2nd. Rich Livernois, Jr. was 3rd. Sean Bass driving his first race on dirt at East Bay finished 4th. Dan Chambers was 5th. Jim Coursen and Matt Haynes won the heat races.

East Bay Raceway Park hosts the 2nd night of the StormPay.com Crate Late Models with their $10,000 to win, 100-lap World Championship main event on Saturday December 8th. The Gagels Open Wheel Modifieds and Convire 4 Cylinder Bombers will also wrap up their seasons. For more information visit www.eastbayracewaypark.com
