Don’t miss this weekend (4-19-08) as the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series invades East Alabama Motor Speedway, one of Alabama’s fastest speed plants to continue the battle for the inaugural season Championship.
Series points leader Ivedent Lloyd is not expected to be there this weekend and that is opening up the door for some fierce competition between 2007 Central Sheds Champion “Showtime” Shan Smith who is only trailing Lloyd by 40 points but hot on Shan’s heals are “Hot Rod” Roger Crouse, Shane Williams, Mark Whitener and Jackie Nosbisch who are all within 80 points of each other and within 120 points of Smith.
Leading the Rookie contingent is the #97 of Justin Choquette who through the first races of the season has shown some real talent and driving ability when he lost a left front tire in the first race with 5 laps left in his heat race and fought hard to finish in a transfer spot. He is trailed by Jeff Conyers in the rookie field by 70 points. If it were not for bad luck in the first race where Jeff was knocked out of the race by an accident on the first lap the points would be tighter still.
You can not count out the locals either as Richie "Rocketman" Stephens has 2 wins in a row,
Terrance " The Phenix City Assassin" Nowell is coming of a win last week and you can never write off Dana Eiland who already has a win the season, and the 2007 Fastrak Champion William Thomas. This race promises to be one of the best yet and will be one to remember!
[The show at East Alabama will be broadcast live on RealRacinusa.com if conditions allow]
