Blair takes the Checkered at Orlando SpeedWorld Advance Auto Parts Pro Truck 50
by Jane Smith

Orlando, FL (September 12, 2008) After nearly a month off from racing, Orlando SpeedWorld opened its door to the Advance Auto Parts Pro Trucks for 50 laps of really exciting truck action.
Eighteen trucks came prepared to win but it was rookie Cody Blair that took the checkered in the end.

Logan Bordeau set fast time for the 50 lap event pulling the number 3 pill putting Scott Bishop on the pole with last week's winner at Desoto Super Speedway, Austin Pickens. But as the green flag waved, it was Bishop who quickly took the point followed by Austin Pickens, T.J. Duke, Logan Bordeau and Mark Evans. Evans wasted no time passing Bordeau for fourth when on lap five, Evans and Pickens found themselves out of the race. Evans suffered a busted radiator and Pickens's truck received severe damage from the hard turn 1 wall. Both drivers were fine, just not happy to be out before the race really got started good.

Once again Bishop took the point on the restart followed by Duke, Bordeau, Kevin Henry, and Keith Lilley. Lilley puts the heat on Henry and takes over fourth as Mike Smith takes fifth. Suddenly Bishop's truck has smoke coming from the rear-end but continues to hold the point.

The caution comes out for Tyler Laing as he slows on the backstretch and comes to a stop in turn 4 with a broken rear-end. Bishop is black flagged for a consultation on pit road to see why his truck is smoking as Laing is being pushed back into the pits, done for the night. Bishop rejoins the field in the rear just as the green is thrown.

T.J. Duke now finds himself as the new leader followed by Bordeau, Smith, Lilley, and Henry. But Henry finds a very hard charging Cody Blair on his tail and before Henry knows it, Blair has passed him for fifth as Henry slides to sixth. Running order is now Duke, Bordeau, Smith, Lilley, Blair, Henry, Ricky Moxley, Barry Bartlett, and Scott Reeves. Blair puts the heat on Lilley and takes over fourth.

The caution comes out for Jessica Green, on lap 28, who has spun on the backstretch. During the caution, Whitney Poole brings her truck down on pit road for a little crew attention and rejoins the field in the rear with Green. Duke once again holds the point on the restart but before even half a lap is down, the caution comes back out for Poole who has spun in turns 1 and 2. At this point, Clinton Clark retires his truck to the pits as Bishop comes in again on pit road for another check on his truck.

Duke once again holds the point on the restart followed by Bordeau, Blair, Lilley and Smith. Moxley puts the heat on Smith but Smith holds keeping Moxley in sixth. Henry puts the heat on Green and takes over ninth as Green goes to tenth. Blair is now showing just how good his truck is handling as he takes over the point followed by Duke, Bordeau, Lilley, and Moxley.

Suddenly Duke seems to have trouble with his truck on the backstretch as he hits the wall with Keith Lilley hitting Duke having no place to go. Both Duke and Lilley are fine but that cannot be said also of their trucks. After both having a great run, both find themselves done and in the pits for the night. It is lap 36 and only 11 trucks are left now for the final 14 laps.

Blair holds the point on the restart followed by Bordeau, Moxley, Bartlett, and Smith. Henry passes Smith for fifth as Smith goes to sixth. Green has alittle smoke coming from her truck but holds on the end as Cody Blair takes the checkered for his first win in the Advance Auto Parts Pro Truck Series. Following Blair to the checkered was Logan Bordeau, Ricky Moxley, Barry Bartlett and Mike Smith.
