Putnam County Speedway Races Against the Coca Cola 600
By Tonya Lewis

Putnam County Speedway will over come the Daytona race for 2008. As the drivers and the fans start to pay to get into the track, the weather looks great and the management is pleased with the turn out of 81 cars. The division to watch was the Modifieds with 23 cars scheduled to run for $800.00 to win. They had 3 heat races and one large feature race. With this being the largest car count Putnam County Speedway has had this season I could not leave anyone out. So I am going to post the whole finishing order for all divisions. Modified finishing order is: 1 – Jeff Mathews 33, 2 – Tiny Greene 54T, 3 – Ronnie Soltis 61, 4 – Larry Burkins 54, 5 – Alex Boerner 3, 6 – Dale Murray 66, 7 – Robert Johnston 44, 8 – James Langley 18, 9 – Ronnie Newsome 11, 10 – James Smith 19, 11 – Trevor Merrell 16, 12 – Jeff Bagent 94, 13 – Darren Smith 41, 14 – Tim Brown 429, 15 – Greg Vandergriff, 16 – Jason Dyal 11d, 17 – David Moheng 12, 18 – Mike Tripp 23, 19 – David Crews Jr.10, 20 – David Crews 42, 21 – Matthew Permann 7p, 22 – Allen Thomas F90, 23 – John Bradley 79.

The division who has led the car count this season will come to the track with 14 cars to start the feature event. The finishing order is as follows: 1 – Art Sullivan 17d, 2 – Troy Sullivan 11, 3 – Casey Feaster 20, 4 – Joshua Wade Conkey 84, 5 – James Shaw 32, 6 – Tonya Lewis 64, 7 – David Knight B8, 8 – James Shaw Sr 23, 9 – Greg Bryson 99b, 10 – Darren Anderson 13, 11 – Robert Graham 21, 12 – Gerard Haley 99, 13 – Larry Langston 49, 14 – Cody Sullivan 28.

The Hobby Stock division will have a awesome turn out and a great race also. As adrenaline rises and tempers start to get the best of the drivers, 15 laps seems to be the shortest race ever. The Hobby Stocks had 2 heat races with 14 cars total count.
