Costello dedicates win to a loyal fan who passed away last week

Late Models return to Putnam County Speedway for there 2nd race of the season. Costello and Nobles your 2nd heat race winner starts on the front row. As Jim Barns throws the green Costello takes lead over Nobles. Mills was right there in 3rd place, and Jeff Phipps in 4th. Costello and Nobles put a two 2 car distance between them, Mills and Phipps. Those four cars battle for position all night long. Costello gets the win over Nobles. David Crews finishes 3rd. Phipps finishes 4th. Mills finished 7th after a heating issue. Costello in victory lane interview dedicates win to a loyal fan who always cheered him on. Ms. Janice passed away at the beginning of last week.

Fords strike again at Putnam County Speedway. Bruce Birkett in the 9 and David Miller Jr. start on the front row in there heat race with Miller taking an early lead on Birkett. Miller breaks drive shaft. Birkett takes win with Randy Moody finishing 3rd. They come back to the track with Birkett and Moody on the front row for the feature. Birkett gets a good start on Moody with Bubba Moore in the 21 in 3rd. Miller starts race but does not finish it. Putting the 116 of James Benton in 4th. Bruce Birkett takes the win but later got DQ'd for not having all 4 breaks working on his car. Leaving Randy Moody the winner Bubba Moore in 2nd, 116 of James Benton in 3rd, and Miller in 4th.

Sportsman comes to the track with your past 2 feature winners on the pole. Mills who was your first race of the season winner, on the inside. Who won heat race #1. Bennett was your 2nd race of the season feature winner, on the outside and winner of the 2nd heat race. Johnson and Adams make the 2nd row. Kinley and Dowling in the 3 make the 3rd row. Green comes out Bennett gets lead over Mills while Johnson and Adams battles for 3rd and 4th. By the time lap 10 came Bennett had a 3 car lead over Mills. Mills had a 3 car lead over Johnson in the 83. 2 to go and Mills catches Bennett. Bennett gets flat on last lap and its a race to the finish for Bennett and Mills. Mills right on Bennetts bumper pushing him under the checkered flag. Kinley brings home a 3rd place finish after getting married Friday to his wife. Johnson finishes 4th, Adams finishes 5th.

The V8 pure stocks take to the track for there 15 lap main event. Jack Miller who won his heat race, starts on the pole. Sadler in the 15 starts beside Miller. Miller takes lead over Sadler. The X5 of Strehle gets around Sadler to take over 2nd place. While Strehle gets loose and the 07 of Jonathan Green gets by him. Miller by now has a 2 car lead over Green. Whitehill in the 69 and the X5 battle for 3rd and 4th. Whitehill gets a run coming out of 4 to take over 3rd. Within a couple of laps Whitehill catches the leaders. Green and Whitehill battle for 2nd position. While Sadler who has fallen all the way back to 4th fights to stay on the lead lap. Miller takes win. Green keeps 2nd with Whitehill finishing 3rd, and Sadler finishing 4th.

The division with the surprise of the night for the fans and the drivers come to the track to find that they are running backward. The division with the most cars of the night starts with Sullivan in the 17D who won heat #1 and Shaw Who won heat #2 starts on the front row. 1.6 of Morris and Kopkee in the 84 finished 2nd in the 2nd heat race starts in the 3rd and 4th position. Haley who finished 3rd in heat starts in the 3rd row on the outside. Lewis in the 64 finished 2nd in her heat race and starts beside Haley in the 3rd row. As the green comes out and the cars go into turn 4 and positions starts changing all through the field from front to back. As tires get rolled of the rims and the cars are battling for positions the white flag comes out with the 17D of Sullivan leading with the other Sullivan right behind him. Checkered comes out 17D of Sullivan will take the win. Rich Sullivan with take 2nd. Shawn Pawlak will take 3rd.

The Management of Putnam County Speedway would like to thank all the fans for coming out to watch the race and the drivers for supporting this track and being there every week putting on a great show.
