Rich Pratt wins 2008 Scott Thompson Memorial Race at East Bay Raceway Park

The National Dirt Late Model Series made their 1st stop of the 2008 racing season at East Bay Raceway Park this past Saturday night for the Scott Thompson Memorial 50 Lap Feature event. Track veterans such as Keith and Jackie Nosbisch, Josh Peacock and JR Prather, Jr. were on hand to try and win the prestigious award, but it would be the Ocala, FL driver Rich Pratt that would bring home the checkered flag and over $3500 in cash. "I almost didn't make the trip down here. We decided to come at the last moment, and we are so glad we did," said Pratt. Jeff Mathews, Keith Nosbisch, Mark Whitener and Jackie Nosbisch, Jr. rounded out the top 5. Shane Williams, Jeff Mathews and Shawn Smith were all winners of their heat races.
The Limited Sprints also provided the fans with heart-pounding excitement for their 20 lap feature event. Greg Leonard from Tampa picked up a well deserved win followed by Paulie Milum, Tim George, Travis Bliemeister and Daniel Jones to round out the top 5.
Twenty-Eight cars snaked around the track for The Motorstats.com Street Stock feature event. Danny Hill battled his way across the stripe for the win with Mathew Grissom and Donnie Reed just behind in 2nd and 3rd. Buck Skinner and Woodhouse finished 4th and 5th.
The Convire 4-Cylinder Bombers wrapped up an incredible night of racing with their own brand of 4-wide excitement. It was the youngster of the bunch, Colin Kruse that would pick up the win while the veterans Colonel Sanders and George Christensen would settle for 2nd and 3rd. Paul Huffstutler and Roberto Morfin wound up 4th and 5th.
