Jeff Firestine Grabs Another Road Warrior Win

Rose Macho in the winners circle Saturday night.

It was a full night of racing at the Charlotte County Motorsports Park, with eleven features and fan participation on tap for the evening. The night started with the make-up Fab 4 25 lap feature from the week before. Jerrett Reynolds sat on the pole with Mark Davis taking the lead on the first lap. It would not stay that way long with Rose Macho taking the lead from Davis, she would stay there and get her second win of the season. Mark Davis would go on to finish second and third went to Matt Irvine.

The Suncoast Outlaw Street Stocks then came out to run the first of their Twin 35 features. Vernon Hart Jr was your fast qualifier with Mike Wilson sitting on the pole. Ricky Shepard would lead the first lap and would stay their till lap 6 when Mike Laplant would pass for the lead.

Caution would come out on lap 7 with your second place car of Shane Leonard spinning in turn four. Laplant would be your leader when the green came back out with first through forth bumper to bumper. Caution would fly again on lap 21 with Donnie Ollie Jr spinning. Laplant would continue to lead till lap 23 when your fast qualifiier Vernon Hart Jr taking the lead from Laplant.

Shane Leonard and Darrin Ellis would get together on lap 27 but both kept their cars going with no caution. Vernon "The Mailman " Hart Jr would go on to claim is first victory in the Suncoast Outlaw Street Stocks. Mike Laplant would finish second with Darrin Ellis coming home third.

Real Racin USA Thunder Trucks came out for their 25 lap feature with Lance Sober leading them to the green. Sober would lead the first lap but not for long with Randy Kile taking over the lead on lap 2. Kile, Ray Jayne and Ryan Meiser all were side by side for several laps for the top three postions. Second place truck Ray Jayne would pop a tire on lap 21 and had to take it to the pits. Kile and Meiser were side by side for the lead when the white flag came out with Meiser edging out Kile. Ryan Meiser would be disqualified in tech and Randy Kile would be given the win, Tom Pryor and Lance Sober would complete the top three.

Mod Minis returned for their 25 lap feature with Mike Kerrivan taking the pole, he would lead the first lap until Chris Zimmerman quickly takes over the lead and would stay their to capture the win. Joe Gagan came in second and Cameron Cruise finishing third. Fab 4's came out again for their regular 25 lap feature with Jerret Reynolds starting out front. Reynolds would lead until lap 7 when Rose Macho takes the lead. Macho would continue to lead until caution come out on lap 22 for debris. On the restart the leaders would go 3 wide for the lead with Mark Davis taking the lead from Macho. Davis would go on to win his first race in the Fa b 4's, Rose Macho was second and Sean Cushing third. Third place Cushing would be disqualified in tech, with Jerret Reynolds given the third spot.

Road Warriors had a caution free race with Jeff Firestine having the pole. Firstine would go on to win with Chris Scott and Dean Butrum having a good battle for the second and third spots. Chris Scott would end up finishing second with Dean Butrum having to settle for third. The fans got their chance to take on the 3/8th mile in there own street cars and trucks.

A Mazda Miata would win the Fan Participation.

After the Fan Participation the Fast Trucks would come out for their 25 lap feature with Thomas Warnick leading them to the green. Warnick would lead until lap with Mark Evans taking the lead from the yound man. However Evans would not stay their long, his truck would go up in smoke on lap 3 giving Warnick back the lead. Warnick would lead again until Ross Chastain would pass him for th e lead on lap 8. Chastain would stay their the remainder of the race to claim the victory. Codey Benoit would finish second with Wayne "Rocketman" Jefferson coming in third.

Suncoast Outlaw Street Stocks came back out for the 2nd Twin 35 feature with Donnie Ollie Jr having the pole. Ollie would lead until lap 8 when Ollie and second place Darrin Ellis would get together and sending Ellis spinning. Ellis was given the lead with Ollie being sent to the back. On the restart second place Mike Laplant got into Ellis spinning Ellis around with the caution coming right back out. Both drivers were given their spots back. When the green came back out it's a 3 wide battle for the lead with Ellis, Mike Laplant and Vernon Hart Jr. Laplant takes the lead. Mike Laplant would stay their to capture his first Suncoast Outlaw Street Stock win of the season.

Vernon Hart Jr would come home second and Mike Wilson completing your top three.

When the Pro 4's come out rain is in the air. Joe Rice would lead them around to the green with Wally Smith taking the lead right away. While Smith is leading they are going 3 wide for the third spot. Chris Lucas goes spinning , but he continues without bring out the caution. David Amelotte would go on with the victory with Danny Daniels Jr coming in second and Michael Rodriguez finishing third.

Thirteen cars and trucks started the "Run what you brung" Figure 8 race. Wally Smith brings them throught the course on the pole. When the green comes out Derrick Horton jumps out to an early lead. Horton would stay their till lap 4 when Jeff Firestine takes over the leading spot. Behind Firestine, Dean Butrum and Greg Anderson battle it out for the second postion for several laps. Butrum spins out on lap 15 giving Anderson the second postion. On lap 19 it starts to rain and Jeff Firestine was given the victory with Ricky Bullard Jr and Greg Anderson completing your top 3.

Due to the rain the Boat race was not ran and will be rescheduled another night.

Next Saturday wil be Elks Lodge and Crine Stoppers night at the races. The Super Late Models will be back with the Sportsman 50, Road Warrior, Real Racing USA Thunder Trucks, Pro4, Fab4, Desoto Champ Carts, Dwarf Car, and the T Q Midgets.
