Jonny Kay is back in the high life again
Jonny Kay is back in the high life again.

The Limited Late Model hotshoe out of Deerfield Beach returned to the winners circle Saturday night at Charlotte County Motorsports Park, winning the 100-lapper in his yellow No. 48 car.

Kay had won a 100-lapper at CCMP back in the spring.

Bobby Shelton finished second and Dustin Dunn was third. Rounding out the top five in the 16-car field were Randy Fox and Casey Caudill. Kay had fast time in qualifying and pulled the number five starting pill.

Veteran Joe Winchell started on the pole, but headed to the back after a wreck on lap one.

Somehow on the start the 13 year old Casey took the lead. From there, it was Caudill leading Dunn for the first 20 laps until the 59 of Dunn got sent to the rear for spinning out Caudill. Kay moved up to the second spot.

Caudill, the 13-year-old, slipped a little on lap 34 and Kay waiting patiently passed him clean and never looked back. Caudell hung in second till lap till lap 83 when lapped traffic started to get in the mix. Shelton moved into the second spot, bringing Dunn and Fox with him. Caudill moved back to fifth.Winchell salvaged a sxith-place finish.Mike Franklin Jr. was running fourth early in the race until he had to make a pit stop. He was warned about speeding in the pits and later got caught speeding in the pits for a second time and was DQed for the night.

Blake Koch took the 50-lap Fastrucks victory. Giving him chase were runner up Bill Vandevender and third-place Tim Shaffner. There were 15 trucks in the field.

In Fastkids, T.J. Duke led the last 20 of the 25 lap race and took the checkered. He was disqualified in post-racde technical inspection. That left Tyler Laing with the victory. Seth Greco was second and Ro ss Chastain third. In Fab 4s, Micael Rodriguez grabbed his first feature win.

Logan Leonard was second and Daniel Sweet third. Peter Ameotte was the winner in Pro 4s followed by Joe Rice and Chris Lucas.

In Road Warriors, Ricky Shelnut got it right in the 34 car, capturing the 25-lapper. Dar Houghtaling was second and Jeff Rumbold third. Dan Benoit finished fifth in the 8 Ball machine of Bob Waltz Jr.
