Bradenton, Fl. Some of the best names in Super Late Model racing was on hand for race number four for the “Hoosier Cup” All American Challenge Series.
The crowd observed a moment of silence for the passing of Rusty Dixon who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident the previous weekend.
“Big Daddy” Dave Pletcher took his first fast time for the 2007 season but the surprise of the day was Robert ”Showtime” Yoho who was second fast on the track. In the third spot was two time champion Jeff Scofield, fourth fast was Ronnie Skipper followed by the “Iron Man” Dwayne Dempsey.
The inversion was four by the roll of the die putting Scofield and Skipper on the front row. When the green dropped Scofield showed why he was a two-time champion in the series pulling out to a full straightaway lead over the rest of the pack.
The rest of the early top five was Skipper in the second spot followed by Pletcher, Yoho and Dwayne Dempsey piloting the car usually driven by Mario Gosselin.
Yoho was eventually caught up in an altercation in turn four in which he was deemed the cause and was sent to the rear after a good top five run. Yoho would recoup for an eighth place finish.
Noticeably missing from the field was Brad Bischoff who has come out of the gate strong in his first year in the Supers. Coming off a strong second place finish at New Smyrna Bischoff was sidelined after having his appendix removed earlier in the week.
Attrition was the name of the game in the 125 lap feature as several cars were sidelined through out the race but when the smoke cleared it was all Scofield taking the win, Steve Dorer the 2006 Turner Tree and Landscape Limited Late Model Champion took second and moved into third in the points, a solid third place finish kept “the Rocketman” Wayne Jefferson in the points lead, fourth across the stripe was David Pollen Jr. and fifth Billy Mowery.

International Contractors Street Stocks Chucky Ramsey may have started up front in the twenty five-lap feature but earned every lap he lead as he had challenges from several drivers through out the race.
But when the smoke cleared it was Ramsey taking a very excited win. “I just have to thank my Dad and everyone else who helped me to get here,” said the winner.
Jimmie Best gave it his all but settled for the second spot with his brother Duane coming from the back of the pack after being caught up in a wreck and tranny stuck in gear. Fourth went to Greg Krom who challenged early for the top spot followed by Casey Hall.
