Tate Pierce wins Limiteds, Travis Roland Takes Trucks

Bradenton, Fl. Over 130 racers signed it for a wild night of stock car racing at the “South’s Fastest Short Track”. School Bus Figure Eights, Limited Late Models, DeSoto Pro Trucks and Outlaw Modifieds were the nights featured races.
The grandstands began to fill early as qualifying began for the Turner Tree and Landscape Limited Late Models and the DeSoto Pro Truck series. Both races would be fifty lap events.
Tate Pierce who was looking for his first fast time in the Limited class watched it evaporate as Hot Shoe Justin Larson made his run and blistered the speedway with the only 14 second run. Pierce settled for second.
Travis Roland added another fast time plaque as he topped the twenty-six-truck field; second fast did Bill Manfull follow Gary Foxworth in third.
Turner Tree and Landscape Limited Late Models Justin Larson looked like he would dominate the fifty lap feature as he would jump out to almost a full straight away lead on the rest of the pack. But Yellows would bunch the field several times.
One of those yellow flags was for Lonnie Miller who slammed into the turn one wall. Miller was running in the top five when the wreck occurred. The front end of Miller’s car was destroyed and towed off into the pits but fortunately Lonnie was able to walk away.
When the green came back out Pierce was right on the back bumper of Larson. He was able to get under the leader and take over the top spot. Pierce was unchallenged for the rest of the race. “I didn’t think I had anything for Justin but the car really came to me the second half of the race”. Said Pierce.
Larson would cross the stripe in second, third went to Jessie Dutilly, fourth was Ray Folwell and in fifth Drew Brannon.
DeSoto Pro Trucks Travis Roland went green to checkers taking the win in the caution filled fifty lapper. Gary Foxworth ran second, third was Bill Manfull, and fourth went to Nick King.
