Nosbisch returns to East Bay Victory Lane
By Whit Holley

Tampa Fl. Nov. 18 2006

Keith Nosbisch took top honors in tonights 25-lap Late Model main event. Along the way the hearty fans on hand were treated to one whale of a race. Ted Erskine led most of the early going before being overtaken by the fleet mount of Josh Peacock. Eighth Starter Nosbisch worked his way towards the front of the pack by using all three good racing grooves available on tonights super fast racetrack.

At the midpoint Nosbisch was able to take the lead from Peacock but the pass was nullified by a yellow for a single car spin. On the double file restart Keith chose the inside lane and after several laps of side by side racing with Peacock he took the lead for good. Josh held on for a strong second ahead of Roger Crouse, K.D. Kelly, and Michael Cherry. Nosbisch and Hamp Conley garnered heat wins.

In Limited Late Model action, pole starter Austin Sanders jumped out to a early lead and held off all challenges to take the win. Sanders set a torrid pace in the 15-lap main slowed only once by the caution flag. Sixth starter Bruce Harvey made his way to second but nobody was going to catch Sanders on this night. Eleventh starter Tommy Evonosky claimed third. Roger Crouse and Rich Kessinger rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Jason Pope and Forrest Gough.

Raymond Rogers came from deep in the field to win the Gagles Open Wheel Modified feature. Once out front, the rest of the field could only watch as Rogers dominated the closing laps. Matt Miller wound up as best of the rest. Jeff Mathews changed rides after his heat and fought back to wind up third ahead of Scotty Williams and Bobby Dixon.

Rogers and Williams took qualifier wins.

Donnie Reed made the trip to victory lane in the Street Stock main. Reed took the win ahead of Jeff Stewart, Buck Woodhouse, Buckshot Mixner, and Joseph Luce. Stewart and Woodhouse started their night with heat wins.

The car count of the night award went to the Four Cylinder Bombers with over thirty signed in. When the smoke cleared, Frank Miller found himself in the winners circle. The rest of the top five were Jimmy Alvis, George Christensen, Kyle Eash, and Tim Albright. Heat wins went to Steve Kimpton, Miller, and Buck Skinner.

Our next race night is December second when the Crate Late Models make their return to East Bay Raceway Park. For complete details of upcoming events check our website at www.eastbayracewaypark.com
