Troy DeCaire captures TBARA win at Desoto, Moore Scores First Open Wheel Win of 2006

Bradenton, Fl. On a beautiful first night of October the fans were treated to an exciting night of racing at the “South’s Fastest Short Track”.
Q- Auto and Injury Open Wheel Modifieds John Sarppraicone Jr. Took the fast time over the field. Brad Bischoff who has been on a tear in his first season in the high-powered open wheel class had his problems before the green flag dropped. The transmission failed and he dove in the pits. He was able to come back and take the green holding the shifter in gear for the entire 100-lap event finishing sixth on the evening.
The man tonight would be Timmy Moore who cruised to his first win of the 2006 season. Second place went to a determined Tate Pierce, third was “Ricky” Bobby Baldwin, fourth went to Wayne Bowman and fifth was Ralph Bowman.
TBARA Two red flags and several caution flags marred the thirty-lap feature. Steven Bradley was hooked up in a three-car wreck going into turn one on the first lap. Bradley was removed from the car by the safety crew complaining of back pain but refused to go to the hospital.
The second red was shown for John Anderson as he whacked the front stretch wall out of turn four totally destroying his car. Fortunately he was able to walk away while his car was taken away on the hook.
Mark Gimmler was looking to make it back-to-back wins as he visited the winners circle Friday night at Orlando Speedworld. Gimmler had a strong car leading the majority of the laps but it wouldn’t last as he and another car made contact sending both cars around. Gimmler finished fifteenth.
Troy DeCaire came out on top taking the win, Dude Teate came from near the back of the pack to take second, third went to Michael Smith, fourth was Randy Woodall and fifth was points leader Bo Hartley.
Heat winners were Mark Gimmler, Larry Brazil Jr. and Joey Aguilar.
