Bradenton, Fl. The evenings 4th of July celebrations started off with the Magic 4 class coming out for a “Meet and Greet” with the fans on the front stretch.
The 12 to 17 year old drivers had a blast meeting all their fans and giving autographs. All the young guns handled it like old pros.
The drivers then lined up for their feature event which had an additional five laps added to it. The drivers did not let the fans down as they battled lap after lap swapping spots and paint along the way.
When the smoke cleared it was Andrew Pratt coming up the third winner of the young class, second went to Shane “the Iceman” Yoder, third was Chelsea LaJoie, fourth went to Clay Joseph Jr. and in fifth Albert “the Hammer” Nail.
School Bus Figure 8’s After a huge fireworks show, the crowd rose to its feet as the nineteen strong field of School Buses rolled out for their twenty five lap feature. There was plenty of close action at the X and three and four wide racing for the lead.
Bill McLeod in the “Miss Ugly” bus showed the way to the checkers to take the first win of a three bus race July. Ernest Helfrick hung on for the second spot, third across the stripe was CW McLeod, fourth was Scott Brown and fifth Brian Conrad.
Enduro A strong thunderstorm rolled through the speedway at about the mid way point in the enduro race bringing out the red flag. When the rain let up the green was dropped wet track and all. The drivers had to change their driving styles.
Zane Reid and Jerome Watland put on a show for the fans handling the wet track and it was Reid taking the win, Watland fell back to third with Anthony Crowder taking second, fourth was Clint Snyder and fifth Jay Seykora.
