Drivers Prepare For Two Major Florida Shows

ARCA AND ASA LATE MODELS READY FOR FLORIDA TRACKS

By KARNAC Media

The Hooters ProCup's most popular driver over the last few years has moved on to the ARCA ReMax Series and will make her debut at Lakeland on March 24.

Michelle Theriault will bring her Glock #45 machine to the 3/4 mile USA International Speedway, joining one of America's most competitive racing tours. Michelle will be a special guest on Real Racin' USA Tuesday night, March 13th.

Joining Michelle on the Tuesday night show will be George Shaw, new owner of Boyd's Speedway in north Georgia. The dirt track was purchased just last week by Shaw and begins racing on April 13. This is the old Tennessee-Georgia Speedway and is being renovated and getting ready for action.

The ASA Late Model tour is in the spotlight tonight as several guests are involved in that series will be on the Real Racin' USA lineup of interviews, among them is Travis Wilson, son of former NASCAR racer Rick Wilson. Travis is going back home to Florida for the ASA Southern Late Model opener at Bronson Motor Speedway. Ron Varney, promoter of the ASA Late Model series will bring fans up to date on the latest news as the ASA prpeares for the tough slugfest expected the "Bronson Bullring".

Dalton Zehr, one of the ASA racers and one of the sponsors of the season opener for the Southern Division will join in. The Bronson race on the 17th of March is billed as the "Camp Boggy Creek 100 presented by Pennzoil and Dalton Zehr Racing."
Dalton has been around the Bronson Motor Speedway and knows it will be a tough race with over 40 teams showing up just to make the field.

The ARCA Series makes its first ever visit to the USA International Speedway and as knowledge race fans are aware, the series is a top tier in the stock car racing world. Greats such as Frank Kimmel, Bobby Gerhart and Mario Gosselin in addition to a host of local talent fasmiliar to Florida fans are sure to put on one heck of a show. There is also a host of talented NASCAR development teams runinng selected races on the ARCAR tour. Fans will get to see NASCAR Cup type cars on the 3/4 mile USA International track as they challenge for 250 laps on the 24th of March.

The ASA, on the other hand is a hotbed of young and agressive race car drivers looking to make a name for themselves and get the experience to move up the ladder in the stock car hierarchy. Among the Florida talent is Sean Bass, Wes Burton, Chris Fontaine, Sean Murphy, Rob Partelo, David Pollen Jr., Fain Skinner, David Wilson, Travis Wilson and Dalton Zehr.

Joining hosts Rick Anges, Jack Smith and Jason Beckner Tuesday live at the Snook River Grill to talk with the stars will be Joe Cool and his Modified race team (AKA Cool and the Gang), the "original" ,Doug Rose owner of the world famous Green Mamba Jet Car and also Gary LaPlant, owner of the new Suncoast Street Stocks.

Another Travis, this time it's Travis Cope who will talk about his big win at Lakeland in the Goodyear Challenge Series this past Saturday night. The show airs live from the Snook River Grill 7-9 PM. LISTEN LIVE BY CLICKING ON THIS LINK!
