Rick Bristol announces sale of his race team to driver R.J. Arnone
Orlando FL. - Long time team owner Rick Bristol has sold his interest in his race team to driver RJ Arnone. Arnone and Bobby Orr now become partners in the race team.
Bristol gave former driver Bobby Orr part ownership for his graduation a couple years ago and now has sold his part to Arnone.
" I have had a great time owning this team since 1998 and have had some great folks drive my car. Carl Green got me my first three wins, then Bobby Orr took me to victory lane eleven times and Arnone three more. We won the track championship in 2002 and second in 2004. Chad Pierce won in the car and Brad May has drove the car as well as Lawrence Usher. I leave the team with team stats of 24 wins, 65 top five's and 20 top ten finishes " said Bristol.
RJ has asked Rick to continue to help with press and sponsor PR for the team and Rick has indicated he will. Arnone plans to run at Orlando this year and will make some visits to New Smyrna and a few other tracks in 2005.
" I enjoyed driving for Rick and he has helped bring me back to victory lane. When he indicated he wanted to sell I knew I could not pass up the opportunity. I want him to handle our press and to deal with our sponsors as he has always done a good job of promoting them over the years" said Arnone.
Rick plans to lighten his load in 2005 and spend more time in finishing his studies to be a Baptist Preacher. He plans to announce further plans soon and will be preparing to move to Tennessee sometime late in 2005 or early 2006.
" I have enjoyed racing for years its time to cut back and do what God has called me to do and he is directing me and my family to Tennessee. I look forward to what he has in store for me" added Bristol.
