Harold Matthews who is paralized from the waist down wins FMSA feataure at Orange County

The Florida Mini Sprints arrived back at Orange County Raceway in East Orlando.
The 1st. Heat Race started out with the pole leader Tom Newton driving the Fast Figgy #4F getting the jump with the #18 of Jody McKenzie in 2nd. With the #11 of Cory Spencer in 3rd. The #69 of TJ Raymond moved by the #56 of Mike Sprague and the #4 of Bud Schreiber for the 4th. Place along with the #3 of Alex Mills following in 5th. The #4F of Tom Newton would go on to win the 1st. Heat Race with the #18 of Jody McKenzie in 2nd. And the #11 of Cory Spencer rounding out the top 3.
The 2nd. Heat Race lined up with the #19T of Matt Tiffany and the #86 of Russ Heider on the front row. The #19T took the early lead till the #71 of John Craddock would spin out causing a restart. The #1 of Harold Matthews moved up to the 2nd. Spot on lap2. With the #86 of Russ Heider fading back and hitting the wall on the backstretch and flipping. Once the race got restarted the #19T led the field with the #1 of Harold Matthews trying to make the pass on the inside for the lead. The #19T drove his race and went on to win the 2nd. Heat Race with the #1 of Harold Matthews in 2nd. And the #71 of John Craddock in 3rd.
The Trophy Dash Only Lined up with the #3 of Alex Mills and the #56 of Mike Sprague on the front row. The #3 of Alex Mills led the 1st. lap with the #56 of Mike Sprague taking the lead on Lap2 with the #7 of Jesse Teed moving up to 2nd. The #56 of Mike Sprague would led the race with #7 of Jesse Teed right on his bumper. Mike Sprague driving the #56 sponsored by (Formula One Customs) would win the Trophy Dash making it Mike’s 1st. Win in his FMSA Career.
The Feature Event Lined up with the #18 of Jody McKenzie and the #11 of Cory Spencer on the pole. The #18 of Jody McKenzie would take the early lead with the #7 of Jesse Teed getting a good start and passing cars from the 6th. Position to the 2nd. Spot by Lap 1. The caution would fly on after lap 1 with the #11 of Cory Spencer having mechanical problems.
The #18 of Jody McKenzie would restart the race with the #7 of Jesse Teed making the pass on Lap 2 for the lead. The caution would fly on Lap 3 when the #86 of Russ Heider would get into the #18 of Jody McKenzie in turn 3 causing the #18 to spin and the #19T of Matt Tiffany with no place to go hitting the #18 and both would be out of the race.
After numerous pace laps caused by the #71 of John Craddock not getting back into his correct starting spot. The #7 of Jesse Teed would restart the race with the #1 of Harold Matthews moving on the inside of Teed. The #71 of John Craddock moved up to the 3rd. spot after passing the #56 of Mike Sprague on Lap 5. Both Teed and Matthews would race side by side for the lead till Lap 6 when the #1 of Harold Matthews got by the #7 of Jesse Teed who would try back a slide job on the inside but Matthews would pull away.
The #1 of Harold Matthews moved up to the top of the track after passing Teed would get a straightaway lead on Teed and Craddock who would be racing for the 2nd. Position. The #1 of Harold Matthews would on to Win his 1st. Race of the 2004 FMSA Dirt Series with (Durden Surveying and Mapping and ESR) sponsored Bailey Chassis. The #7 of Jesse Teed would finish in the 2nd. Position with Craddock in the #71 in 3rd. and the #56 of Mike Sprague ended up in the 4th. Place with the #86 of Russ Heider rounding out the Top 5.
