IT'S TIME TO RACE!!
March 30, 2004
Open Wheel Lites Visit Bronson Motor Speedway
The Florida "Open Wheel Lites" were back at Bronson Motor Speedway this past Saturday night.

The track improvements were seen everywhere. First the track surface, new walls all the way around, and bathrooms were some of the nicest that the women have seen.

Just a nice race track for these Open Wheel Lite racecars.

First Heat:
This heat at lap 3 saw #01 Ron Towles of Jacksonville engine blow going into turn 1 (Hate when that happens, Ron has worked extremely hard on his motor program) causing much of the field to spin and bang. But, everyone lined back up for the restart. Only caution in this heat.

The finish was:
1. #09 - Brian "Superman"Gingras - Daytona Chassis
2. #04 - Rick Lundeen - Daytona Chassis
3. #07FL - Jim Biglin - Daytona Chassis
4. #11 - Dan Nyhan - Pro Chassis (Getting the bugs out for a new customer)
5. #54 - Bill See - Pro Chassis
6. #6 - Becky Davis - Daytona Chassis
7. #01 - Ron Towles - Raptor

Second Heat:
Saw "Flying" Kevin Baxter come back to form. He battled Erik Powell, Bob Quick, Jerry Davis, Harvey Johnson, Jr. and Rich Egli.

The finish was:
1. #69 - "Flying" Kevin Baxter - Daytona Chassis
2. #28 - Erik Powell - Pro Chassis
3. #06 - Bob Quick - Pro Chassis
4. #02 - Jerry Davis - Daytona Chassis
5. #7J - Harvey Johnson, Jr. - ??
6. #21 - Rich Egli - Daytona Chassis

The feature was a real stand on your seat event!

Brian Gingras, aka Superman and Flying Kevin Baxter brought the field down for the start. Gingras, Baxter, Lundeen, Powell, Biglin and Quick all battling for the top spot. On Lap 4 #11 of Dan Nyhan dropped oil in middle of turn 3 and 4 sidelining him and putting #04 Rick Lundeen in a spin, (Sorry Rick ) making him restart in the back. Everyone on the track put on a great wheel to wheel show for the fans.

The feature finish:
1. #09 - Brian Gingras, Winter Haven
2. #69 - Kevin Baxter, Winter Haven
3. #28 - Erik Powell - Green Cove Springs
4. #07FL - Jim Biglin - Port Orange
5. #06 - Bob Quick, Jacksonville
6. #04 - Rick Lundeen, Jacksonville
7. #02 - Jerry Davis - Daytona Beach
8. #7J - Harvey Johnson, Jr. - Ocala
9. #54 - Bill See - Port Orange
10. #21 - Rich Egli, Daytona Beach (Good race for our newcomer in Louie Ventresca's "Glow Show")
11. #6 - Becky Davis - Daytona Beach
12. #11 - Dan Nyhan - New Smyrna Beach
13. # 01 - Ron Towles - Jacksonville (DNS)
