IT'S TIME TO RACE!!

March 27, 2008 Columbia Motorsports Park is going Dirt, at least, in the Infield CMP MEDIA Lake City, FL (March 27, 2008) Columbia Motorsports Park is going dirt. No, not the big track but the new 1/8th mile clay oval that is being constructed in the middle of the pits. "We are very excited about this new venture," said owner Don Nerone. "We will begin construction this Monday and hopefully will see it open the second week of June. It will be a small 1/8th mile track with not a lot of banking suitable for go-karts, quarter midgets, motorcycles, and quads." "I decided that the middle of the infield would be the best place for the new track since the bathrooms, concession stand, electric, water are all there now and we want our racers and fans to have the best conveniences for our new track. We plan on running go-karts on Friday night and Quads on Sunday and there should be pretty good fields in both for the fans." Check www.columbiamotorsportspark.com on updates on the new track. Columbia Motorsports Park is a half mile banked asphalt oval speedway with wide racing grooves and huge pits. Centrally located just south of Lake City, Florida and close to Jacksonville, Gainesville, the Florida Panhandle and South Georgia.
