Top Cops Chuck Wagner Takes the Win at Aurburndale | By Billie May
The Speedway had their regular show plus the Top Cops and a Demo-Derby. With the little Gobblins in their Trick or Treat costumes, the night was filled with some crazy stuff and it wasn't even a full moon? The Demo-Derby was won by # 911 Robert Kissam, 2nd # XX Roger Nickols and # 686 Charlie Brower 3rd.
Top Cops make a visit to the Auburndale Speedway a couple times a year, tonight was Chuck Wagner # 27 night to shine, after starting on the outside pole he took the lead going into the first turn, # 28 Phil Riles settled into 2nd, a battle for the 3rd spot between # 10 Steve Wagner and # 2 Bob Hart with Wagner getting the spot and putting pressure on Riles for 2nd and eventually gets the position on lap 10, with laps running out Chuck Wagner took the win, Bob Hart settles for 2nd and Phil Riles comes home 3rd. 4-10 Steve Wagner 5-0 Wade Hatcher 6-5 Butch Rumsey 7-83 Matt Schwab
The 4-Cyls had some crazy things going on in their race with a lengthy driver change for the # 96 Larry Chumney car that held up the start of the race to the crowds displeasure, after that was done the green finally came out. Dena Guy # 69 after winning her first heat race took the top spot with # 31 Donnie Guy running 2nd, and # 30 Gary Guy in 3rd place, # 53 Donnie Jouppi and Chumney got together in turn four but keep going until turn two when they get together again with Chumney stalling on the track bringing out the caution. Top five were Dena Guy, Donnie Guy, # 63 Steve Johnson, Gary Guy, and # 54 Jimmy Smith, on the restart Jouppi and Chumney get together for the second time with Jouppi getting black flagged and disqualified for the night. Smith gets up high and loses a couple spots, # 1 David Jouppi moves up a couple positions to the 4th position and then gets to the outside of Johnson for 3rd. Johnson and Gary Guy make contact with Johnson spinning, Johnson got his spot back and Gary Guy was sent to the rear. Dena Guy still leading but David Jouppi moving up fast takes the lead with only a few laps to go and gets the win, Dena Guy makes her best finish in a feature with 2nd and Donnie Guy comes home 3rd.

Points leader Mike Pitts in the V-8 Street Stocks started on the pole and never looked back, the race was for the 2nd spot between # 51 Mark Lowe and # 99 Jason Deaton, Lowe gets the position but a couple cars get together and # 68 Mike Wilson gets tapped and spins, at the same time # 38 Jason Stifle gets turned around bringing out the caution, top five were Pitts, Lowe, Deaton, Stifle, and # 16 David Purvis, racing underway again # 32 David Holland gets under Purvis for 5th spot, Purvis and Wilson get together bringing out the caution again, restart # 21 Chris Narramore Jr. gets to the inside of Holland to move up to the top five, Mike Pitts went on to take the win, Mark Lowe 2nd and Jason Deaton 3rd.

After a complete restart, the Mini-Stocks were underway # 30 Jerry Smith goes high and # 5 Chris Palmer gets the lead, the caution comes out because # 01 Donnie Howell lost his nose piece and was stuck in the back bumper of # 21 Chuck Fraziers car. Top five on the restart were Palmer, Smith, Frazier, # 38 Mike Margotta, and # 58 Wayne Weaver, # 9 Robbie Storer got underneath Margotta and Weaver to move up to 4th, then under Frazier for 3rd and Weaver follows to the 4th position. Storer gets under Smith to take over 2nd and under Palmer for the lead but Palmer pulls in with mechanical problems. Robbie Storer takes another victory with Jerry Smith taking home 2nd, a good battle for the 3rd spot between Frazier and Weaver Frazier gets under Weaver forcing Weaver to slow for lapped traffic on the backstretch but Weaver got under Frazier coming out of turn four and got the 3rd spot by a nose.

Chris Lewellen # 01 and # 13 Aaron Williamson made up the front row of the Super Stock race with Lewellen getting the top spot, Aaron Williamson 2nd, # 12 David Williamson 3rd, # 2 Paul Gibbs 4th, # 16 R.J. Williams and # 51 Randy Shearer battle side-by-side for the 5th spot with Williams getting the position. The Williamsons get together with Aaron spinning, then Williams and # 40 Robert Eddy get together and spin, officials rule it was track conditions and all drivers got their spots back. Jeff McCaw # 34 was the man on the move coming from the 12th starting spot and getting around Shearer and Williams to move up to the 5th position, # 9 Johnny Gamble and Eddy tangle on the backstretch and Gamble takes a spin, Gamble had a small fire in the left rear brake and restarted his car only to make the fire expand, he finally stopped and the fire was put out. Restart with a handful of laps to go Chris Lewellen lead it from start to finish and took the checkered flag, with Aaron Williamson 2nd, and David Williamson 3rd.

LLM had the "Blue Goose" # 71 Dave Dunkin on the pole with # 65 Ollie Harbin outside pole, Dunkin leaped into the lead with Harbin 2nd, # 25 Billy Norris 3rd, # 01 Bryan Storer 4th, and # 55 Richard Elkins Jr. rounding out the top five, they get bunched up in the back and # 99 Danny Mabry brushes the frontstretch wall and stops in turn one with the right front suspension broken. With 1 lap in single file restart Norris slips up and loses quite a few positions and Storer, Elkins, # 63 Wesley Bass and # 1 Bart Weatherford take advantage, Dave Dunkin had the field covered and took the victory, with Ollie Harbin 2nd, and Bryan Storer 3rd.
