Cobb Tops Late Model Field at East Bay

Tampa, Fla - Phillip Cobb lead the field of Late Models
to Jullan Mullis' Initial green flag and looked like he
would easily cruise home for the win, however, Roger
Crouse had other thoughts as Crouse caught Cobb in
lapped traffic and took the top spot on lap 9. Cobb tried
every trick he knew to get back around Crouse and finally
on lap 15 he powered his Morgan Farms/Neon Moon #03 under
Crouse to regain the top spot and hold off the rest of
the field to get the win.

Bill Howard got by Crouse for second on the last lap,
Crouse settled for third over K.D. Kelley and Bobby
Alexander, Jr. with Ted Erskine, David Schmauss, Frank
Erskine, Sr., Frank Erskine, Jr. and Bubba Sullivan
rounding out the top 10.

In Limited Late Models, Roger Crouse was not to be denied
this win as he took the lead from polesitter and 2002
track Champion Terry Gay on lap 11 of the 15 lap event
and brought home the Cherry Lawn Maintenance #98 home
for the win over Terry Bronson, Terry Gay, Jeff Mathews
and Timmy Gay with Mike Rudder, Jamie Burrows, Forrest
Gough, William Hampton and Timmy Bronson rounding out
the top ten.

Chad Rose lead the 15 lap non stop Mini Stock feature
from green to checker as he brought home the Williams
Racing/Dayton Anderes Dodge #7jr for the win over 2002
Champ Dorsey Strickland,Scotty Williams, Brian Debore
and Josh Peacock with Jim Courson, Kenny Rutledge, Danny
Bowman, Jr., Wallace Peacock and Jimmy Waldrop rounding
out the top 10. Bruce Watkins took the lead on Robbie
Simpson on lap 4 and held off the hard charging John
Bradley to claim the Open Wheel Modified win. Bradley
took second over Dean Varnadore, Jim Passino and Randy
Shields, Jr. with Ed Newell, Randy Thomas, Buddy Wisham,
Robbie Simpson and Rogert Douglas rounding out the top
10.

Don Gansner won his third Street Stock main in a row
as he powered Eric Teal's #35 under Steve Johnson on
lap 3 and never looked back. Bruce Harvey took second
over Steve Johnson, Ronnie Pope and Bryson Ryker with
Tony Traina, MacKersey, Mark Cooper, Rob Roy and Robert
Fleming rounding out the top 10.

Racing action continues at the Hillsborough County l/3
mile oval next week with the 4th leg of the Mr. Budweiser
point series, Sprints, Late Models, Limited Late Models,
Mini Stocks, and Street Stocks will all see action.
