FASTRUCKS and Florida Mini Stock Challenge Series Results from Sebring

In one of two 30 minute timed racing events, FASTRUCKS
saw #44 Paul Grynewicz III on the pole for the first
timed event. But it was Bob Spaeth #15 who quickly
took the point with James Wright III, Rom Bambard,
Jimmy Gill and Mikey Kempgens in the top five.

Spaeth was able to hold the lead lap after lap while
#8 Todd Bontrager worked his way up closer to the
front. Then suddenly Spaeth slipped back with #5
Jimmy Gill taking over the point. But Gill had
a short lead as Todd Bontrager #8 saw the checkered
flag wave for him.

Following Bontrager in the first of two races was
#56 James Wright III, #5 Jimmy Gill, #40 Paul Grynewicz,
#99 Danny Foster, #10 Larry Moyer and #26 Tom Nikia.

The second race saw the winner of the first on the
pole #8 Todd Bontrager. Lap after lap, the top five
did not change with Bontrager leading, #56 James
Wright III, #5 Jimmy Gill, #40 Paul Grynewicz, and
#99 Danny Foster.

Bontrager had problems and it was the #15 Bob Spaeth
who took over the lead and never looked back. The
second race was taken by Spaeth, Gill, Wright III,
Foster and Moyer:

This was the first experience for the Florida Mini Stock
Challenge drivers as they hit the 1.85 8 turn modified
road course. Lee Davis #77 set fast time but after the
pill was drawn, it was #65 Joey Catarelli on the pole.

Catarelli was able to get the jump and lead for a few laps
until the #77 Lee Davis took over. Davis had the car to
beat for sure but after having to pit several times for
a throttle cable problem, Davis saw his hopes of his first
road course win shattered. However, he did end up with a
good finish.

The #21 Chuck Frazier had the turn 7 wall and it took
up a good 10 minutes of the Mini Stock race time to
clear the wreck. Frazier was not hurt but his road
course racing was done for the day.

On the restart, it was still #65 Catarelli in the lead
but the #96 Frank Welch was knocking on the back door.
Welch was able to take over the lead and coming off
turn 8 on the last lap, he and Corbin Gibbs #2 were
door-to-door when Gibbs touched Welch causing Welch
to have to regather and losing the lead. Gibbs crossed
the checkered with Welch, Catarelli, Storer, Sirmans,
and Pyburn.

In tech, the #2 Corbin Gibbs was dq'd giving the win to
Welch.
