Florida Mini Sprints Hits the Dirt of Thundercross

The Florida Mini Sprints arrived down south to the newly
owned Thundercross Motorsports Complex in Okeechobee with
Mother Nature putting a damper on the track, and the time
schedule. The staff did their bet all night to smooth
out the track, but all in all a fun night.

The lst heat winner was the #71 (Napa Auto Parts) driven
by John Craddock. The #7 Jesse Teed raced back and forth
with the #19 Ryan Thomas with Jesse finshing in the 2nd
spot.

The 2nd heat started out with the #1 of Harold Matthews
taking the point until engine trouble. The #33 (U.S.
CarCare) of Tom Wilson took the lead and never looked
back, with the #55 of Allen Craig finished 2nd, and #95
Don Keithley finishing 3rd.

The feature event started out with the #32 and #2
starting on the front row. The #2 tangled up in the lst
corner causing a caution and putting the two cars in the
back. The #71 took the led from the start of the race
with the first caution came out when the #19 went over
the right rear of the #32 and flip over putting the race
under a red flag. The race was won by #71 (McCalligan
Motorsports) John Craddock from start to finish with the
#33 Tom Wilson finishing 2nd and #7 Jesse Teed making
a last turn pass to get around the #55 of Allen Craig
for the 3rd spot with the #2 Steve Crabtree making a run
from the back to finish 5th.

During Intermission a few drivers went over to the
spectators side and autographed checkered flags provided
by Harold Matthews (ESR) for the kids. It was a HIT.
Thanks to all that helped.
