Bellaw, Flynn, and Reynolds Winners at NSS Before Rain Came

Heat races were run and three of the six feature races
before Mother Nature began crying soft tears over the
track. It was not a heavy rain but a steady drizzle
and enough to make the cars slip and slide which is
not good.

A.J. Currelli #128 won the heat race but it was the #77
Brian Bellaw who sat on the pole and won from the pole.
Currelli did his best to try and pass Bellaw but Bellaw
held strong and there was no getting by him. One Super
Late Model showed up and he ran with the Lates coming
in third. Following Bellaw to the checkers was #128
A.J. Currelli, #7 Mark Vandevender, #23 Joey Pletka
and #11 Steve Redditt.

Jim "Hoot" Flynn did double duty winning both the heat
race and the feature race. Flynn, who started on the
pole for the feature race, quickly jumped to the lead.
On the second lap of the race, the #3 Wayne Parker and
#16 Justin Henderson touched sending Henderson spinning
towards the frontstretch wall and Parker being towed off
the track. Henderson was able to continue and restarted
the race in the rear. Flynn still held the lead as the
green was thrown again and as the mods were racing, the
rain began to softly fall. The #2x Bobby Blake tried to
pass Flynn but just could not get the steam to do so.
Following Flynn to the checkers was #2X Bobby Blake,
#16 Justin Henderson, #7 Mark Vandevender, #75 Don
Keithly, #20 Ed Kuhel, #1 Jim Coverdale, and #44 Michael
Urban.

The Mini Stock divison was up next but the program was
switched and the Strictly Stocks took to the track.
Three heats for the Strictly Stocks with #6 Joe
Whittenton winning heat 1, #91 Todd Driscall winning
heat 2, and #65s James Smith, Sr. winning heat 3.
On the pole for their feature event was #66 Tim
Edmundson but it was the #24 Kenny Marshall who quickly
took the lead. Marshall held on until the #20 Justin
Reynolds was able to make the pass and take away the
lead. Following Reynolds to the checkers was #6 Joe
Whittenton, #65 James Smith, #24 Kenny Marshall and
#66 Tim Edmundson.

Tim "Missileman" McPhail won the heat race for the Mini
Stocks.

Donnie Williams #111 won the heat race for the Sportsman.

Charlie Collins #23 won heat 1 for the Super Stocks,
#2 Ron Whaley won heat 2 and Ted Head #27 won heat 3.

Next week, there will be double features for the Mini
Stocks, Super Stocks, and Sportsman plus the Ed
Meridith Memorial 100 Lap Modified race.
