It's time to race!

September 13, 2002

Kittleson, Freed, Held, Orr, Johns and Leslie Winners at Orlando SpeedWorld

It looked to be a dismal night but Mother Nature was good
to Orlando SpeedWorld and only dumped alittle rain. Once
the rain stopped, cars began to pile into the pits for
a wild night of racing.

Travis Kittleson took the Sunbelt Super Late Model 125
Lap race with Michael Williams, David Rogers, Jacob
Warren and Jimmy Cope filling in the top five.

Derrick Wood #1 Bandolero got the fans on their feet
first as his car rolled and landed on it's roof in the
first lap of the bandolero feature. Wood was okay and
the car was able to continue racing. Shows just how
good these little cars are built. Patrick Conrad #6
once again took the win over #63 Dalton Zehr, #5,
#2 Matt Martin and #21.

Cory Freed #12 Super Stock sat on the pole for their
feature and won from the pole. Freed jumped to the
lead on the green and never looked back. Following
Freed to the checkers was #00 John Hodge, #50 Jeff
Wright, #64 Billy Cuddy, #44 Bob Beiler, #27 Ted
Head and #2 Ron Whaley.

Wes Haigh #99 sat on the pole for the open wheel
modified race. But it was the 2001 Points Champion
#55 Shain Held who took the point on the green and
never looked back. John Foerg #30, who has a slight
lead in points over Bobby Blake, ran second until
he spun and had to go to the rear. Bobby Blake #75
took over second and was able to hold it until the
checkers. Following Held was #75 Bobby Blake, #1
Andy Saffotti, #38 David Debelius, #30 John Foerg,
#99 Wes Haigh, and #4 Glen Bradley.

John Cook #24 Mini Stock sat on the pole for the Mini
Stock feature but it was the #30 Bobby Orr who quickly
took the lead. In the rear of the field was Tim
"Missileman" McPhail, last week's winner, quickly making
his move towards the front. McPhail passed #28 Sean
Bass for second but just couldn't quite catch up to
Orr. Following Orr across the checkers was #7 Tim
"Missileman" McPhail, #28 Sean Bass, #88 R.J. Ornone,
#07 Dick Laszlo, #3 Cory Kaiser, and #24 John Cook.

Bruce Gayton #93 sat on the pole for the Sportsman feature
and quickly jumped to the lead. But it was the #4 Rick
Johns who overtook Gayton for the lead and never looked
back. Following Johns across the checkers was #93
Bruce Gayton, #9 Kelly Jarrett, #23 Richard Hight, #77
Danny Shearer, #3 Earl Beckner, #31 Paul Colgan, #5 Dave
Denyer, #40 Dennis Gilliam, and #22 Homer Gordon.

Robert Ward #27 sat on the pole for the Strictly Stock
feature but it was the #l Cory Riddle who quickly took
the lead. But #45 Jim Leslie was not far behind
Riddle and was able to make the pass and take over
the number one spot. Following #45 Jim Leslie to the
checkers was #20 Justine Reynolds, #l Cory Riddle, #14
and #27 Robert Ward.
