It's time to race!

   

September 1, 2002

Castello, Vann, Williams, Lenzen, Driscall Winners at New Smyrna Speedway

Racing took place in all FASCAR divisions except
Late Models along with the "The Little Trees Road
to Charlotte" Sunbelt Super Late Model 125 lap
race. Travis Kittleson, Michael Williams, Bruce
Lawrence, Chad Pierce and Ronnie Roach were the
top five for the Sunbelt race.

Dick Lazslo #07 sat on the pole for the Mini Stock
feature. But it was Tim "Missileman" McPhail who
took the lead on the green followed by Lazslo and
Ted "Mr Mini Stock" Vulipus. After a caution for
#36 and #07, McPhail also brought out the caution
for a spin and is sent to the rear of the lead lap
cars turning over the lead to David Castello #l
who started in the rear of the field from last
week's win. Castello was able to hold the lead
and take home the win followed by #71 Ted "Mr Mini
Stock" Vulipus, #ll, #7 Tim "Missileman" McPhail,
and #43 Pete Rose.

Bobby Blake #2x sat on the pole for the modified
feature but it was Red Vann #32 who took the lead
and never looked back. Vann lead the caution free
race flag to flag. Following Vann was #2x Bobby
Blake, #00 Brad May, #09 Rob Underwood (nice to
see Rob back), #99 Jeff Anderson, #16 Justin
Henderson, #44 Michael Urban, #8 Sean Price and
#56.

Sportsman saw the #07 Ron Lufcy on the pole and
leading until the #111 Donnie Williams worked
his way thru the field to the point. Williams
took the win followed by #07 Ron Lufcy, #3 Marty
Wolf, #09, #28 David Myer, #28 Chris Peludant,
#46, #15x Bill Spade, #70, and #18 Brian Dula.

Jason Foster #49 sat on the pole for the Super
Stock feature but it was first time winner #211
Jack Lenzen who took the lead and lead from
flag to flag. Following Lenzen across the
checkers was #61 Ted Helms, #45 Mike Soukup,
#07 Kevin Auguer, #49 Jason Foster, #66 Dean
McGlothin, #2 Ron Whaley, #32 Bill Stacy, #3
Jeff Colburn, #11 Shane Stacy, #59 John
Kunstbeck, #10, #71 Mike Hendrix, and #91 Allen
Dillon.

Todd Driscall #91 took the win in the Strictly
Stock feature followed by #27 Barry Parks, #66
Tim Edmundson, #65 James Smith and #6 Joe
Whittenton.

Next week OFFICIALS RACE. A night to remember.
