David Williamson Wins Super Stock Race

The full moon showed its face and some drivers showed their butts, still great racing was put on for the fans at Auburndale and some disqualifications changed the finishing order in the 4-Cyl. class.

Mini-Stocks took the green with 14 cars starting and # 58 Wayne Weaver on the pole with # 67 Bo Davis outside of him, Weaver gets the lead # 89 Scott Sharpe 2nd, Davis 3rd, # 38 Mike Margotta 4th and # 5 Chris Palmer running 5th, # 04 Randy Teston spins in turn 4 bringing out the first caution with 2 laps in the books, under caution Palmer who was running 5th pulls in with mechanical problems putting # 9 Robbie Storer into the 5th spot.

Restart Storer gets around Margotta for 4th and under Davis & Sharpe to move up to 2nd, then he gets under Weaver to take the lead, # 99 Jamie Kennedy spins coming out of turn 2 bringing out the 2nd caution. Top 5 were Storer, Weaver, Sharpe, Davis, and Margotta restart had single file racing until Kennedy spins for the 2nd time, another restart # 25 Billy Barstow gets under # 01 Donnie Howell for 6th but Howell gets the 6th spot back going under Barstow then drops off the pace with mechanical problems, last lap Barstow and Kennedy make contact causing damage to both cars but finished the race, Robbie Storer went on to win, Wayne Weaver was 2nd and Scott Sharpe was 3rd. 4-67 Bo Davis 5-38 Mike Margotta 6-04 Randy Teston 7-00 Sonny Albertson 8-25 Billy Barstow 9-60 Greg Valdez 10-01 Donnie Howell

Big field of LLM for the feature race with 15 cars and # 00 Ronnie Heard took the lead from the pole but # 63 Wesley Bass and # 31 Wendell Guy make contact and Guy spins collecting # 5 Jason Bennett, # 46 Tommy Caveney, # 21 Von Pope but all were able to continue with a complete restart. Heard gets the lead on the green # 54 Steve Black running 2nd # 25 Billy Norris 3rd # 55 Richard Elkins 4th and # 01 Bryan Storer 5th, Bass gets under Storer for the 5th spot meanwhile Elkins gets under Norris for the 3rd spot and Bass follows to 4th, Storer and Guy get under Norris to move up to 5th and 6th spots, # 1 Bart Weatherford and Bennett get together and Weatherford spins in turn 3 bringing out the last caution, restart with a few laps to go Ronnie Heard goes on to take the win, Steve Black 2nd and Richard Elkins Jr. 3rd. 4-63 Wesley Bass 5-01 Bryan Storer 6-5 Jason Bennett 7-71 Dave Dunkin 8-31 Wendell Guy 9-1 Bart Weatherford 10-65 Ollie Harbin

Dwarfs were the featured race of the night with 13 cars taking the green # 68 Nick Shadid started from the pole and took the lead, # 22 John Godwin running 2nd, # 50 Max Howe got under # 32 Mel Godwin for 5th then # 88 Kenny Harrison spins in turn 4 out comes the caution bringing the field back to a complete restart. Green again and Shadid takes the lead with Howe and John Godwin in 2nd and 3rd, John Godwin got under Howe for 2nd then passed Shadid for the lead, top 5 were John Godwin, Shadid, Howe, # 74 Allen Davis, and # 17 James Wagner , Howe going into turn 1 to hard and pushes up then spins, restart Wagner gets under Davis for 3rd then Davis falls off the pace and pulls into the infield moving # 77 Bill Burback into the top 5, John Godwin goes on to take the victory with Nick Shadid 2nd and James Wagner 3rd. 4-88 Kenny Harrison 5-77 Bill Burback 6-44 Dan Berry 7-96 Wayne Declerck 8-32 Mel Godwin 9-50 Max Howe 10-5 Alvia Carter

The 4-Cyl class had some disqualifications that changed the finishing order of this race, # 3 Terry Jones got the top spot on the start with # 43 Kevin Lumley right beside her for the lead but # 9 Darryl Ashmore spins bringing out the 1st caution flag, restart Jones in the lead and Lumley off of the pace after challenging for the lead, # 95 Reggie Ware and # 41 David Howard make contact with Howard spinning. Restart top 5 were Jones, # 1 David Jouppi, # 53 Eugene Davidson, # 63 Steve Johnson, and # 30 Gary Guy, # 27 Wayne Guy loses his right front tire ending is night and Davidson broke and went to the pits. Restart # 96 Larry Chumney tries the outside of Gary Guy but doesn't make the pass Howard and Ware make contact again but Ware spins this time bringing out another caution, Jones still leading but Jouppi is challenging for the lead every time he makes the pass a caution would fly putting Jones back up front a couple times going back to the last completed lap, Chumney and # 31 Jared Guy get together with Guy spinning Chumney black flagged for rough driving and pulls into infield Guy back into the 5th spot, top 5 were Jones, Jouppi, Johnson, Jared Guy, and Ware, Jared Guy and Gary Guy make contact and Gary Guy goes through the infield but continues losing a couple spots Jared Guy and Johnson get together with Johnson spinning and Ware tagging him but Ware goes on, Johnsons night was done after running in the 3rd spot. David Jouppi finally made the pass on Jones and takes the win, Terry Jones 2nd and Gary Guy 3rd. After post race inspections # 1 David Jouppi and # 30 Gary Guy were dqed after a protest and found illegal, # 96 Larry Chumney and # 31 Jared Guy were dqed for rough driving giving the win to # 3 Terry Jones, # 95 Reggie Ware 2nd and # 41 David Howard 3rd. 4-4 Matt Carroll 5-9 Darryl Ashmore Jr. 6-63 Steve Johnson 7-53 Eugene Davidson 8-27 Wayne Guy 9-43 Kevin Lumley

Johnny Vaughn # 77 took the lead in the V-8 Street Stocks with # 51 Mark Lowe 2nd, # 16 David Purvis 3rd, # 08 Daniel Clough 4th and # 21 Chris Narramore Jr. 5th, caution comes out for the # 3 Kevin O'Quinn spinning in turn 4, on the restart # 40 Mike Pitts goes to the outside of # 32 David Holland and Holland at the same time jumps to the outside and they make tire contact sending Pitts about 4ft. into the air and breaking his rearend ending his night. Restart Purvis goes high and Narramore takes advantage and goes to 3rd Clough follows to 4th, 3-wide coming out of turn 2 and Purvis spins bringing out the caution and restarting in the rear, # 38 Jason Stifle moves under Clough to get into the top 5, leader Vaughn gets into lapped traffic and goes to the outside but gets put up high and brushes the frontstretch wall almost losing the lead to Lowe but the caution comes out with only a handful of laps to go Johnny Vaughn takes the win, Mark Lowe 2nd and Chris Narramore Jr. 3rd. 4-68 Mike Wilson 5-38 Jason Stifle 6-08 Daniel Clough 7-81 Roy Wilshire 8-16 David Purvis 9-00 Rodney Peterson 10-88 Jacob Haranda

A Family affair took place in the Super Stock race with 14 cars ready for the green flag, # 14 Andy Dorman starting from the pole after winning his 1st ever race in the heat gets challenged on the outside by his teammate # 12 David Williamson and D.Williamson gets the lead, Dorman to 2nd # 13 Aaron Williamson goes around # 9 Jimmy Castleberry for the 3rd spot and then inside of Dorman for 2nd, Castleberry slows suddenly and pulls in with mecahnical problems, # 2 Paul Gibbs follows to the 3rd spot, top 5 were, D.Williamson, A. Williamson, Gibbs, Dorman, and # 51 Randy Shearer, but # 01 Chris Lewellen challenges on the outside and gets the 5th spot, # 40 Robert Eddy and Shearer get together and Shearer gets sideways but keeps going losing a position but Shearer & Eddy make contact again sending Eddy for a spin, caution comes out, under the caution Eddy makes contact with Shearer and gets black flagged for doing so, restart # 34 Jeff McCaw gets under Dorman for the 4th spot, but David Williamson takes home the win, with his Son Aaron Williamson 2nd and Paul Gibbs 3rd. 4-34 Jeff McCaw 5-14 Andy Dorman 6-01 Chris Lewellen 7-62 Travis Wilson 8-16 R.J. Williams 9-3 Chuck Steele 10-51 Randy Shearer
