Sport Allen Claims Another East Bay Sprint Victory

Jeff Mathews held off all challenges that Bobby Alexander Sr. mustered up to claim his first win in LATE MODEL action on Saturday night at East Bay Raceway.

J R Austin lead for the first 4 laps until Mathews took the top spot and then had to hold off 3 time winner Phillip Cobb who was trying every move to pass Mathews.

Cobb dropped out with mechanical problems on lap 20 opening the door for Bobby Alexander Sr. to get a shot at Mathews.

Alexander was only able to get up along side Mathews and when it was all over, it was the former Limited Late Model Champ getting his first win. Following Mathews and Alexander Sr. it was Bobby Alexander Jr., Donnie Tanner and Bill Howard.

In SPRINTS, it was Sport Allen returning to action to claim the win. Allen took the lead from Mike Senecal on lap 3 and easily cruised home the winner over Paulie Milum, Casey Johnson, Brian Maddox and Mike Senecal.

The LIMITED LATE MODELS had twin 15 lappers with Terry Bronson getting the win in the first one. Bronson took the lead when Phillip Brower dropped out on lap 8, from there it was all Bronson as he held off John Norris to take his second win of the season. Follwing Bronson and Norris it was Terry Gay, Bill Howard and Mike Rudder.

In the second Main, it was William Hampton in his Lacey's Tax #29 taking the lead from Forrest Gough on lap 10 to claim his 4th win of the season. Hampton had to hold off Terry Bronson who was looking for a sweep on the night to claim the win. Following Hampton and Bronson were Terry Gay, David Boerner and Mike Rudder.

In the first of 2 STREET STOCK Mains, it was Bryson Ryker who took the lead from Bruce Harvey on Lap 3 of the 15 lap event
claiming his 2nd win of the season. Jack Rowland, Rob Hall, Bruce Harvey and Wayne Hays rounded out the top 5. In the second Main it was Eric Johnson leading from green to checker to take his first win of the season. Tommy Mena, Jason Bronson, Tim Hunt and Tony Traina rounded out the top 5. Travis

Bleimeister took his first career WINGLESS SPRINT win as he lead from the green to hold off Larry Brazil Jr., Tim George, Donnie Maxwell and David Kelly.

In MINI STOCKS it was Kenny Rutledge getting his 3rd win of the season as he held off 4 time winner Chad Rose to get the win. Following Rutledge and Rose it was Rick Partridge, Wallace Peacock and Josh Peacock
