Jerry Bryant Winner In Charlotte County Speedway Sportsmans

#79 Leigh Elliott (hometown not listed) sat on the pole for the Best Coast Insurance Street Stocks twenty five lap feature race and by the end of the first lap it was #2 David Fischer (Naples) out front.

Walt Korkiner (Cape Coral) moved the #56 car up to take over the top spot on lap five. Lap nine saw #84 Bill Vandevender and #27 Terry Price (Port Charlotte) racing hard for second coming out of turn four. The two cars got together, with Price getting up on two wheels and Vandevender smacking the inside wall head on.

Price was still in the line up when the race resumed, but Vandevender ended up on the Prompt Towing hook and was disqualified for having a member of his pit crew on the track. #56 Korkiner went on to win the race with #29 David Mayhood (Ft. Myers) in second and #27 Price in third.

Eighteen high power four cylinder race cars known as the Outlaw Modifieds took to the track for their twenty five lap feature with #24 Don Peacock (Tavernier) on the pole. #72 Mike Franklin (Homestead) took the lead on the first lap and was running into lapped traffic by lap nine.

#15 Doug Hopper (New Port Richie) was running in second on lap twenty one when his engine decided to come apart causing a four car spin in turns one and two. #5 Ted Hoverson had started the race in last starting spot but was up front and took over the lead on the restart. #23 Cory Cullem (Cape Coral) made a turn four last lap pass to take the lead and the win leaving #5 Hoverson in second and #94 Christy Boyette (Punta Gorda) in third.

The Collier Sportsman thirty lap feature got underway with #31 Scott Barner (Ft. Myers) on the pole. Barns held the lead until lap ten when #9 Jerry Bryant took the spot after a hard fought battle with #72 Shawn Van Wie (Naples).

#22 Danny Yates (Cape Coral) started out in the back row and had moved up to take over second by lap twenty one. #9 Bryant held on for the win with #22 Yates taking second. #39 Phillip Johnson (Naples) crossed the line in third but was disqualified in tech, passing the third place finish off to #76 Joe Reese (Bonita Springs).

#14 Randy Layman (Lehigh Acres) had the pole for the start of the Thunder Trucks twenty five lap feature and held position for four laps before #44 Raymond Tucker (N. Ft. Myers) took over the spot. Tucker didn't hold on to lead on lap six. #22 John Garrett (Ft. Myers) had started out near the back of the pack and by lap eleven was sitting in second but #37 Cheryl Weaver (Port Charlotte) starting from the middle of the field, moved into second on the fifteenth lap. #88 Pack held on to take the win with #37 Weaver in second and #22 Garrett in third.

Up next was the CLW Construction Open Wheel Modifieds with #49 Christine Gibson (Lehigh Acres) on the pole for their thirty five lap feature. #18 Sean LeMaster (Naples) and #8 Kent McLean (N. Ft. Myers) swapped second and third positions for the first four laps while #49 Gibson held on to the lead. #25 Scott Kleiber (Naples) started out in the last row and was up front and taking the lead by lap nine. #18 LeMaster blew an engine on the sixtenth lap ending his chances for thenight after running a strong second to Gibson. #25 Kleiber took the checkered flag with #6 Kevin Williams (Port Charlotte) making his way up front from his last starting position to take second #8 McLean rounded out the top three coming in third.

#08 Steve South (Bonita Springs) lead the "Thundering Herd" as the W.E. Johnson Equipment Road Warriors lined the track for the final feature of thenight. #5 Bob Waltz (Cape Coral) took the lead on the second lap and held it until lap ten when #l Jesse Gargus (N. Ft. Myers) took over the spot. #82 Billy Lentz (Ft. Myers Beach) had been running a strong second before a flat tire sent him to the pits. Lentz made it back out to finish in fourth. #l Gargus held on for the win with #30 Chris Huntoon (Englewood) in second and #61 Chris Oncken (Ft. Myers) in third.
