Full Moon Effects: New Smyrna Speedway Results

The Florida Mini Stock Challenge was the special event of
the night. Clint Foley #7x took the win followed by
#05 Rick Sirmans, #96 Frank Welch, #2 Corbin Gibbs, and
#02 Wes Pyburn.

Heats and features were run for the Super Stocks, Late
Models, Modifieds and Strictly Stocks. In heat 1 of
the Super Stocks, #2 Ron Whaley took the win, Heat 2
#45 Mike Soukup and heat 3 #9 John O.

Four Late Models were wrecked in their heat race. The
#57 Wise, #8 Tim Clark, #8x Cindy Strahley and #11
Steve Reddick. The #8 Clark and #57 Wise were basically
totalled. Mike Murphy #26 went on to win the heat.

Tank Tucker took the heat win for the modifieds and
David Smith #48 took heat l for the Strictly Stocks and
#66 Tim Edmundson took heat 2 win.

Before the first lap was in for the Super Stocks, there
was a red flag. The #01 of Robbie Gauthier and #65
got together coming off turn 2 and ended up by the pit
entrace wall. The #61 of Ted Helmes was also involved
and a number of other cars that came around after the
red with damage to their car. Helmes retired his car
along with the #01 and #65. When the race went green
again, #30 Mike Wieczoreck held the lead followed by
#91 Allan Dillon, #16 David Gould, #3 Jeff Colburn, and
#8 Robert Skinner. The #2 of Ron Whaley passed Skinner
and took fifth. Then another red flag, this time for
the #27 Joe Woodbury who was on his side at the pit
entrance. Woodbury was fine but shaken. His car was
toast. "I don't know how I got out," said a shaken
Woodbury. "I just know I was in the ground." When the
red was lifted and the race returned to green, it
was #30 Mike Wieczoreck taking the win followed by
#16 David Gould, #2 Ron Whaley, #9 John O and #32
Bill Stacy.

Larry Osteen #22 sat on the pole for the Late Model
feature and went flag to flag with no cautions to
take the win over #26 Mike Murphy, #77 Brian Bellaw,
#23 Joey Pletka, and #7 Charlie Merz

Bobby Blake in the #2x sat on the pole for the modified
feature but it was the #66 Jerry Symons taking the
lead and leading flag to flag. Following Symons
to the checkers was #15 Tank Tucker, #2x Bobby Blake,
#99 Jeff Anderson, and #16 Justin Henderson.

Strictly stocks saw the black #3x win followed by
#66 Tim Edmundson, #llx, #3x (orange) and #65.
These cars were teched and two were disqualified.
The winner (black) #3x and one other. I apologize
for not knowing but I was busy with the final official
race results for the Florida Mini Stock Challenge.

Next weekend at New Smyrna Speedway, a 50 lap Super
Stock race. The Goodyear Challenge will run at USA
International with the Hooters ProCup race..
