Race Results Charlotte County Speedway

Punta Gorda, Fla - Keels & Wheels/SARA Modified 100 took
to the semi-banked oval at Charlotte Co. Speedway with
29 cars signed in at the gate. Dwayne Dempsey (St.
Petersburg) made a late race pass on Joe Sumasky to
capture the glory and the money. Chasing Dempsey to
the stripe was Wayne Jefferson (Pinellas Park), Timmy
Moore (Pinellas Park), Chris Turner (Naples) and Jamie
Burrows (Valrico). Fast Qualifier was Scott Kleiber
(Naples) with a 15.591.

First time winner George Ellsworth won the Sportsman
feature in grand style out running some of the top
drivers in this division. Jim Keating (Bonita Springs)
would be listed in the runner up slot ahead of Danny
Yates (Cape Coral), Joe Reese (Bonita Springs) and
Jerry Bryant (Punta Gorda).

Chuck Stevens (Ft. Myers) bested the field in the Pure
Stock division. Conrad Molter (Ft. Myers) was second,
Scott McDaniels (Ft. Myers), Taz Sidock (Cape Coral),
John Hanuschik (Ft. Myers) rounded out the top five.

The action packed Road Warriors saw Chris Oncken (Ft.
Myers) shake the monkey off his back as he captured
the victory. Clete Trimmer (Cape Coral), Jesse
Gargus (Cape Coral), Chris Huntoon (Englewood) and
Brandon Anderson (Port Charlotte) would round out the
top five.

After numerous runner up finishes it was John Garrett
(Ft. Myers) the ictor in the ever so popular Thunder
Truck class. Cheryl Weaver (Port Charlotte) ended up
second and rounding out the top five was Mike Bialecki
(Ft. Myers), George Pack (Punta Gorda), Bob Charette
(Ft. Myers).

The Mini Stocks were the victims of the curfew and will
run for double points and double money on their next
scheduled race night.

Charlotte Co. Fan Appreciation Night May 25th, with anyone
displaying an article of clothing with the name or logo
will only pay $10 to enter the Speedway.

Starting June 5th we will have Wild Wacky Wednesday a 100
Lap Enduro paying $1000 to the Winner, and several
Xtreme Series Races.
