Daryl Smith Gets First Career Sprint Car Win At East Bay

GIBSONTON, FL - Daryl Smith piloted his Total Mobiltronics, Laceys Tax, Sams Food and Spirits, Sitecrafter.com, Koni Shocks #3 to a win in his heat and capped off the night by winning the main event enroute to his first career win.

The 20 year old third generation driver had his Eagle Chassis / Gaerte engine car working to perfection as he held off the charges of Paulie Milum and Brian Maddox.

Smith took the lead on lap one and was not to be denied as he maneuvered flawelessly through lapped traffic, Paulie Milum, Brian Maddox, Danny Martin Jr. and Casey Johnson rounded out the top 5.

In Late Models it was Donnie Tanner taking his first win of the season over Jack Nosbisch Jr., Bobby Alexander Sr., Phillip Cobb and Jeff Mathews. The Street Stock A Main went to Mike Gamche over Tim Hunt, Bruce Harvey, Steve Johnson and Jason Bronson.

The Mini stocks fell to point leader Dorsey Strickland over Spencer Buzbee, Kenny Rutledge, Chad Rose and Ryan Mitchell. Wayne Hammond claimed the Open Wheel main over Ed Newell, Bruce Watkins, Randy Thomas and Jim Passino.

The Limited Late Model main went to David Simpson over Terry Gay, William Hampton, Shane Koperda and Phillip Brower.

The Street Stock B Main went to Eric Johnson over Ron Abney Jr, and Jim Greenwood
