Randy Fox Back In Charlotte Winner's Circle

By Danny Snow

The Big Wheels 4x4 Mini Stock twenty lap feature got underway with Kip Bryant (N. Ft. Myers) on the pole. #94 Keith Risinger (Ft. Myers) took over the top spot on the first lap of the race and never looked back. #56 Brian Richardson (N. Ft. Myers) lost part of his nose piece early on in the race but was in second by lap fifteen. #94 Risinger went on to take the win with #56 Richardson in second and #41 Billy Ray Jr. (Punta Gorda) in third.

#0 Dick Robinson (Ft. Myers) sat on the pole for the start of the Collier Electric Sportsman division's thirty five lap feature, but #38 Ralph Goddard (Naples) had taken the spot before the end of the first lap. #22 Danny Yates (Cape Coral) was a man on a mission. Starting out in the back of the field, he was battling for second by the fifteenth lap and had taken first by the twentieth. #22 Yates held on for the win with #9 Jerry Bryant (Punta Gorda) in second and #38 Goddard in third.

The W. E. Johnson Equipment Road Warriors took to the track next for their twenty five lap feature with #08 Steve South (Bonita Springs) on the pole. #18 Shane Leonard (Cape Coral) took the lead on the first lap, then lost it to #1 Jesse Gargus (N. Ft. Myers) on lap five. #82 Billy Lentz (Ft. Myers Beach) took the lead after a lap nine restart and held on till the drop of the checkered flag but was disqualified in tech. #30 Chris Huntoon (Englewood) took the win with #1 Gargus in second and #00 Trey Almand (Port Charlotte) in third.

Twenty cars lined the track for the Outlaw Modifieds twenty five lap feature with #17 Gary Boals (Key Largo) on the pole. The first lap lead change went to #15 Doug Hopper (New Port Richie). Hopper dropped off the pace on lap nine and had to pit after running a strong first, passing the lead over to #87 S. C. Klinger (Pembroke Pines). After a lap eleven restart it was #67 C. J. Haycraft (Miramar) on point. Haycraft held on for the win with #8 Randy Sands (Islamorada) in second and #94 Christy Boyett (Punta Gorda) in third.

The Cat Country Limited Late Models got off to a rocky start. #48 Robert Heslekrants (Davie) sat on the pole. As the green flag dropped, a five-car pile up under the flag stand reduced the starting lineup of cars by three. #64 Chris Libak (Ft. Myers) took the lead on the first lap as #88 Randy Fox (Lehigh Acres) was making his way up through the pack. Fox moved into first place on lap sixteen. Libak had been running a strong second but fell back on lap thirty two. #88 Fox went on to take the win with #36 Al Fradette (N. Lauderdale) in second and #107 Glenn Morris (Bokeelia) in third.

Thirteen cars took to the track for the Best Coast Insurance Street Stocks division's twenty five lap feature with #2 David Fischer (Naples) on the pole. The race belonged to #99 Mark Collins (Cape Coral) who took the lead on the first lap and held on tight for the win. #11 Doug Spitzer (Cape Coral) took second and #84 Billy Vandevender (Cape Coral) came in third.
