Ron Wilson Wins First Street Stock Race At Hialeah

by Marty Little
HIALEAH, Fla - Using his up front starting spot to good
advantage, Charlie Coyle scored a clean sweep of the
late model sporsman program Saturday night at Hialeah
Speedway.

Wheeling his freshly redone Murray's Speed & Custom
Monte Carlo, Coyle topped his heatin a wire to wire
run then duplicated the feat to score his first win of
the season in dominant fashion. Chasing Coyle in the
25 lap headliner was the Ford of Craig Seewald, Stuart
Robertson, Greg Kaouk, and Ray Derry.

Another first time winer was veteran Ron Wilson in the
street stocks as he jumped from his pole starting
position and never looked back enroute to the victory.
Points leader Gary Padula gave chase but settled for
second in the 25 lap event ahead of T.C. McElyea,
Bubba Martone and Chad Rutherford.

Toyota mounted Eddie Lowery claimed his second mini
stock victory of the season as he held off the
challenges of Bill Calder and Tommy Styer for the
score. Arcy Anderson and Harold Cross rouned out the
top five finishers. Styer's late race challenge
ended in a spin with two laps remaining.

Chad Orth outran a good field of cyclone drivers to
claim his initial win of the year in the 25 lap
feature. Ron Regula came from deep in the pack to
claim second money ahead of Victor Leo, Bruce
Moerlins and George Morales.

John Bentley hustled his primered Camaro to the win
in the 25 lap pure stock main with a good drive
over point leader Roger Bohannon, Frank Kelliher,
Mike Crehan and Sean Buiaskas chased the lead duo
to the stripe.

The figure 8 main fell to Bob Regula as he was the
best of the both ways runners over Bohannon, Leo,
Bentley and Lynn Reid.
