Randy Fox Takes Limited Late Model Win at Charlotte County Speedway

Punta Gorda, FL - Big Wheel 4x4 Mini Stocks - #11x Tim
Miller Jr. came from North Port to sit on the pole for
the twenty lap feature. At the drop of the green #92
Kip Bryant of NOrth Ft. Myers took the lead but by the
end of the first lap it was #19 Dale Dean III out front.
#56 Brian Richardson from North Ft. Myers took the top
spot on the second lap and never looked back. Richardson
was running in lapped traffic by the fourteenth lap and
putting quite a bit of distance between himself and the
second and third place runners. #56 Richardson won the
race with #19 Dean in second and #94 Keith Risinger of
Ft. Myers in third.

W. E. Johnson Equipment Road Warriors - Twenty of the
"Thundering Herd" roared to life with #88 Larry Rudd
on the pole for their twenty five lap race. As they
made the first lap it was four wide racing down the
front straight away as #91 Ander Jackson from Punta
Gorda took the lead. By lap eleven, #61 Chris Oncken
of Ft. Myers took the top spot. A caution just two
laps from the finish bunched up the pack setting up a
dash for the checkers. #61 Oncken held on for the win
with #91 Jackson in second and #0 Clete Trimmer of
Ft. Myers in third.

Budweiser/Collier Electric Sportsman Twin 35 Lap
Feature #1 - #20 George Ellsworth out of North Ft.
Myers had the pole and made good use of it. By the
thirteenth lap of the race he was already in lapped
traffic. #17 Kelly Huff hit the wall outside turn three
bringing out the Prompt Towing truck for a ride back to
the pits. Huff was alright but the car was done for the
night. When the race resumed on lap seventeen #20 Ells-
worth was still on point. Cape Coral's #22 Danny Yates
was in second place looking to take the lead and #100
Jim Keating of Bonita Springs sat in third. #22 Yates
made it to the front on the next lap and held on for
the win with #100 Keating taking second and #20 Ellsworth
third. Hard Charger went to #34 Johnny Gargiulo.

The Cat County 107.1 Limited Late Models - Hollywood's
own #74 Richie Henry had the pole. By lap two #36 Al
Fradette from North Lauderdale was in the lead. Lap
ten saw #107 Glenn Morris trying to keep #88 Randy Fox
of Lehigh Acres from taking second. Fox had second by
lap twelve and was in first by lap thirteen. #36 Al
Fradette had been running a good race but luck wasn't
on his side. First a flat tire, then a bump by another
car sent him into the wall, dashing his hopes for a
top five finish. #88 Fox took the checkered flag with
#81 Chuck Sweet of Port Charlotte in second and #34
Jeff Dufresne of Ft. Myers in third.

The Fastruck Series - Twenty four trucks hit the track
for their twenty five lap feature with #129 Tim Shaffnier
of Ft. Lauderdale on the pole. Shaffnier took off like
a shot, steadily pulling away from the rest of the field.
Debris on the track brought out a caution on lap eight
bunching up the field. Lap thirteen saw #19 Steve Arnold
of Cape Coral take the lead as #129 Shaffnier got loose
in turn three. Arnold held on for the win with Shaffnier
in second and #25 Gary Foxworth of Lutz in third. Due
to the many cautions the race was cut down to twenty one
laps.

Busweiser/Collier Electric Sportsman Twin 35 Lap Feature
#2 - Twenty six of the original twenty nine cars took
to the track for their second feature with #8 Raymond
Jones of Arcadia on the pole. Fort Myers' Mark Chapman
moved the #24 into first place on the first lap of the
race and never let go. #105 Ron Bacelo got a bump from
#21 Vince Koch on the sixteenth lap bringing out the
caution. When the green flag flew again #24 Chapman
was still on point. Chapman held on to take the win
with #76 Joe Reese of Bonita Springs in second and
#8 Jones in third. Hard Charger went to #22 Danny
Yates.

Unfortunately, we started the evening off with a forty
five minute rain delay. That caused us to shorten most
of our feature races for the night. All in all the
fans were treated to short track racing by some of the
best race car drivers in the state of Florida. We at
Charlotte County Speedway say "Thank You" to everyone
who help support the home of "Southern Thunder".
