Dick Anderson Wins Florida Pro Race at Charlotte County Speedway

Punta Gorda, Florida - Charlotte County Speedway set its
pace to debut the Florida Pro Late Models and with a
slim field of cars it was the quality of the drivers
that set the start of the 50 lap headlner. The
original schedule 100 laps was reduced for lack of
participants and it was Florida Veteran Dick Anderson
who continued his winning ways as he dominated the
Budweiser Florida Pro Main Event. Anderson started
his Simmons prepared machine on the second row and blasted
past front row starter Randy Fox enroute to Victory Lane.
Billy Bigley gave chase to the veteran only to come up
short for his efforts. Fox would hold on to the third
spot and rounding out the top five was Jay Middleton
and Georgia's David Hodges in his sharp Dodge Intrepid.

It was Joe Reese who bested the Best Coast Insurance Street
Stock drivers. Mark Collins would be the early leader
until Reese slid his mount up underneath and sped to the
win. Collins would lock up the second spot ahead of
Terry Price, Point Leader Billy "the kid" Vandevender
and Mr. Consistent Mike LeBeau. Reese and Price were
the heat winners.

Chuck Stevens used his track knowledge to blister the
field in the Keels and Wheels pure stocks. Taz Sidock
had to settle for second but got some severe pressure
from Wayne Wilson on a few attempts to sneak underneath
Sidock but was unable to make it stick and Wilson was
shown third at race end. Chasing the trio to the stripe
was John Boyer and Point Leader "Big Dawg" Conrad
Molter. Heat wins to Del Beckner and Boyer.

Dale Dean III was within inches of capturing his first
win of the season until out of nowhere appeared a
Bad Black Fast Pinto. The man behind the wheel was
none other than Point Leader Brian Richardson who
lead only a few feet to win his third race of the
season. Dean was able to hold onto second ahead of
lone heat winner Keith Risinger, Kip Bryant and
Dennis Scarborough.

In the W.E. Johnson Equipment Road Warrior brawl it was
Trey Almand dominating the field taking home win number
one for the season. Chris Oncken gave chase but came
up a little short ahead of Billy Sawyer, Billy Lentz
and Jonathan Abraham. Heat wins to Almand an rookie
Ander Jackson.

The Thunder Trucks would hit the track 17 trucks strong
and due to several protests the results, the results
were un-official at press time. Unofficially Gene Pack
was the winner in the Big Brown Truck now carrying the
#88 formerly the #2 ahead of John Garrett, Mike Bialecki,
Cheryl Weaver and Bob Charette. Garrett would protest
the powerplant in the Big Brown Truck and Officials
were still checking parts in the early a.m. Final
results should be released by Wednesday.

In the Xtreme Series it was Greg Anderson the best "dragger"
in town. Chris Oncken was second ahead of Bill Sawyer.
The next race on the Xtreme schedule is the Second Over
the Line Race. A race that is guaranteed to be a
doosey!!!

This Saturday Night April 13th we will feature the
Budweiser Sportsman Twin 35 races. Plus....Cat County
107 Limited Late Models, Big Wheel Mini Stocks, W.E.
Johnson Equipment Road Warriors, Fastrucks and Kiddie
Rides for the children!!
