Larry Martin and Wesley Keller-Back to Back Wins At Bronson | by Brenda Roberts
Modifieds
Larry Martin made this race look like he was on a Sunday drive. He took the early lead in his #07 car, walking away from the rest of the field, to make this his second win in a row. But, there was plenty of racing action behind him. Kevin Durden in his #69 car and #39 Gary Southard was running bumper to bumper in a battle for the 2nd spot. Southard was trying every move he could to get around Durden but couldn't find a hole. With eighteen laps to go, a caution came out bunching the cars back together. Again, Martin took off leaving Durden and Southard to race for second. Southard got up beside Durden a couple of times but wasn't able to make the pass. Durden held on to 2nd and Southard took home a well deserved 3rd place.
Sportsman
Brody Giddens took the lead from the pole position but wouldn't stay there long as he got tapped by # 47, D. Bouchard, spinning Giddens and bringing out the caution. Giddens and Bouchard were put to the rear and Doc Batson in his # 4 car took the lead and would stay there for his first win of the season. Bouchard, Roger Damron, and Arthur Conquest were running nose to tail fighting for the 2nd position. With 17 laps to go, Damron takes a spin and Conquest tries to avoid contact and spins hisself, putting both drivers to the rear. That now puts Giddens in 3rd with Robbie Cooper a close 4th. Maybe a little too close because Cooper spins Giddens causing both cars to be put to the rear. Conquest was now working Damron for 3rd position and with 3 laps to go Conquest was able to make the pass and hold off for 3rd place.
Ministock
D. Faunce in his #2 car and #10 Jeff Stalnaker Jr were running one and two when # 39 takes a spin in turns 3 and 4, bringing out an early caution. Once the cars got bunched back together, Stalnaker Jr would make his way to the front and take over the lead. . With 5 laps to go, Tater Stalknaker takes over 2nd position from #39 J.Wilson. J. Stalnaker Jr would hold off T. Stalnaker for the checkered.
Purestock
Wesley Keller notched his second win in a row in his # 78 car. Starting 4th, it didn't take Keller long to take the lead from # 66 Cris Cross. Once out front, Keller was only looking for the checkered. But behind him was Cross, J. Hughes in his #71 car and #45 J. McNeal fighting for 2nd position. These 3 cars were bumper to bumper until the end of the race. This was a duel to the finish with Cross taking home 2nd.
