Scofield Barred From All American Challenge Series

According to officials at DeSoto Speedway driver Jeff Scofield has been barred from the speedway as a result of incidents Saturday night during the All American Challenge Series Super Late Model race.

Scofield had qualified well back in the field but took the pole position when the die was rolled and 10 rows were inverted.

Scofield had been very reluctantly giving up spots to much faster cars and on lap 58 pulled his car up near the wall in turns 3 and 4, bringing out the caution. Track officials ordered Scofield off the track, apparently for forcing them to throw the yellow.

Subsequently he had words with the Race Director. Two witnesses said threats were made to the officials.

Scofield had been holding down the third spot in the AACS points race.

Justin Drawdy and Jimmy Cope meanwhile are in a very tight race for the top spot in the AACS which will earn the Champion a $10,000 check.
B.J. McLeod and Dave Pletcher are in the top five in points. The next AACS race is August 31 at DeSoto Speedway.
