"Battle of the Tires" set for Friday at Orlando SpeedWorld

by Jane Smith

Bithlo, Fla. (March 22, 2005) This Friday night, March 25, the FASCAR Pro Trucks and Quick Kids make their first appearance at Orlando SpeedWorld. And to make the event more interesting and fun for everyone, it was announced today at New Smyrna Speedway that the FASTRUCKS are welcome to come and join the fun and use their Goodyear tires.

"Everyone has complained about the Hoosier tire but maybe this Friday will answer some questions. Any FASTRUCK or truck who wants to come race with the Pro Trucks can do so on their Goodyear tires that theyhave been running. Not new ones but run ones," said Don Nerone, General Manager for FASCAR.

"And this also includes the FAST KIDS too", he concluded. "We would welcome any FAST KIDS who would like to race with the Quick Kids You could call it "a battle of the tires".

Coming into Friday's night race leading the FASCAR Pro Truck points is Jamie Skinner who has run very good so far this year and was the Winter Heat Truck Champion. Following Skinner in points is Mike Gamache, Danny Foster, Dewayne Barrus and Matt Martin in the top five.

Friday the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. with practice for the Pro Trucks/'FASTRUCKS, Quick Kids/FAST KIDS from 3 to 4 p.m. Regular division practice will follow with qualifying for the trucks at 6:45 p.m.

General admission is $15.00, seniors and students $10.00 and children 11 and under are FREE.

Be sure to join us for the "Battle of the Tires" this Friday at Orlando SpeedWorld. Also on the program for Friday night will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Stock, Mini Stock and Strictly Stock.

See ya at Orlando SpeedWorld!!!
