Todd Blevins Gets It Done In FASTRUCKS

By Rick Bristol

Todd Blevins (3) prepares to pass Wayne Morris (56) for the lead.

Orlando FL. - A good group of trucks and a beautiful Sunday afternoon greeted a good crowd at Leroy Davidson's Charlotte County Speedway.

Wayne Morris would set Fast Time for the Open 50 lap main event while David Wilson took the same honor for the kids.

Morris would draw a 4 for inversion and last event winner Todd Blevins would start at the rear of the field.

Morris would lead many of the early laps as Blevins began a strong run from the back of the field. Also working his way was last races second place finisher from the 13th spot, Mason Love.

The Morris piloted truck began to show smoke 10 laps into the race, but officials saw no fluid and he continued to lead.

Blevins meanwhile had worked up to second place near the halfway mark and makes a strong pass for the lead. Tom North was having a good run and when Morris slowed on lap 47 North inherited the second spot.

Only four caution slowed the event as the drivers all did a good job on the hot slick track. Blevins pulled out a good lead to bring it to the win in the Tommy King owned machine.

Tom North crossed a solid second, with Mason Love grabbing third and the 2004 Sportsman Series Championship for the Arnold and Damaris Diaz owned team out of Miami.

Stewart Robertson had a good fourth place over Jeff Firestine who held fifth. Danny Anderson,Kevin Williams, Nick King, Rich Pellerito and Jet Daniel rounded out the top ten.

In FASTKIDS action David Wilson lead every lap of the 25 Lap main event to pickup the popular win. Brian Blum who looked like he might not make the call for the race made a run to the second spot over Joe Coulter who grabbed third. Richard Jimerson Jr. and Mike Jeneci rounded out the field.

The FASTRUCK Banquet is scheduled for Saturday Night Feb 5th in Lakeland at the Holiday Inn just off I-4 on Hwy 98. FASTRUCK Pro's, Sportsman and FASTKIDS will be honored. Check the FASTRUCKINC.com site for more information.
