FASTRUCK Hires Rick Bristol as New Director of Racing

Lakeland FL. - New series director Billy Barstow announced today that Rick Bristol has been hired as the Director of Racing.

Bristol a long time race official in Florida will handle the Race Director duties along with a number of other duties pertaining to race day operations.

"We are excited to have Rick come on board and I have heard good things about his ability to run a race program. He will bring consistency and organization to our series" said Barstow.

Bristol has been an official in Florida since back in 1986. He has had his own race series events, announced at numerous tracks, race directed the Florida Pro Series, Volusia Speedway Park and has flagged events for organizations like NASCAR, DIRT, UMP, ALL STARS, FASCAR and more. He is a respected official because of his " go by the rules " approach and his consistent and fair treatment of the drivers.

"I am excited about the opportunity with FASTRUCK as it will help me to concentrate on a 18-20 race schedule as I cut back my activities in 2005. I have sold my race team and will only help out with sponsor and press deals and spot for RJ this year. I will have more time this way to concentrate on my Pastoral studies. I like the challenge of trying to improve and help FASTRUCK regroup a bit in 2005" stated Bristol.

Rick's first move was to retain Carl Green and put him back in the techman spot. "Carl is a great official he wants to do things according to the rules and I have promised him he will be backed up and we will all go by the rules in the book" added Bristol.

Bristol then added veteran experience to his staff by hiring former Sunshine Speedway flagman Laverne Patrick to handle the flagging duties in 2005. "I have great respect for Laverne and worked with him for 6 years at Sunshine and he is a great guy to be around" he added.

Rick is working on another addition to his staff and will make that announcement and decision soon.

"I hope all the FASTRUCK drivers will see positive changes and effort in 2005. We are going to work very hard to make this series a well known professional, fair and affordable series. The series has always been known for good truck counts and action packed racing and we will try to add to that and keep it going in the right direction. Billy is working very hard to fix problems, secure a schedule and get it all released. He is doing a good job and the drivers will see the fruit of it all as we begin the season" added Bristol.

The officials plan to meet next week and try to get all items finalized and released the first week of January. The FASTRUCK Series will be in action Sunday Janraury 9th at the Charlotte County Speedway, it will be a non-points race.

If any drivers want to talk to Rick they can reach him at 407-497-0448 cell or 407-282-4705 nights.

For tech questions call Carl Green at 863-602-6209 cell or 863-859-5525 at night.
