Eubanks Wire To Wire In Volusia Late Models

Mike Eubanks jumped into the lead on lap 1 over a field of very competitive late models. Rod Burton, Joe Kump, Scott Singler, David Clegg, Lawton Minchew battled each other for the 2nd position ahead of the remaining field.

Eubanks held off all attempts as he used the high & low side of the track. Eubanks looked like he was on a Sunday stroll but the field behind beat & banged on each other as they headed to the front.

Eubanks held onto with the lead until the checkered was thrown. Top Ten: Mike Eubanks, Rod Burton, Joe Kump, Lawton Minchew, Scott Thompson, Scott Singler, Mike Warren, David Clegg, Ronnie Grubb, Joe Baker

Joey Haslauer take two straight Street Stock Features at VSP. Grady Christian took the lead as James Peters, Dustin Hartley, Richard Schneider, Stanton Mills pulled up on his bumper. Peters, Hartley, Schneider, Mills, Haslauer raced 2 breasted sparing no parts as they headed to the front trying to rattle the cage of Christian.

Christian held tight as the field fiercely fought changing positions behind him. Haslauer made his way to 2nd pulled along side Christian as they stayed side by side several laps, inches apart. Haslauer took over the lead and held on tight until the checkered was thrown. Top Ten: Joey Haslauer, Paul Shead, Richard Schneider, James Peters, Stanton Mills, Mike Howsare, Dustin Hartley, Robert Hicks, Glen Henry, John Blood

Thomas Hughes wins The Hobby Stock A-Main over a very hard charging field of 24 drivers. Mike Tovet took the lead as the field ran 3 & 4 wide. The race was red flagged on lap 1 was 10 cars collided on the front stretch battling for positions. Nobody was injured but several were retired for the evening.

Tovet held onto the lead as Pat Taulbee, Hughes, Alan Peacock, Joe Belkey, Hugh Hays battled on his bumper, pulling along side of him as they raced for the top spot. Hughes overpowered Tovet and held on until the checkered was thrown. Top Ten: Tom Hughes, Alan Peacock, Joe Belkey, Pat Taulbee, David LeBeau, Hugh Hays, Tim Hughes, Jeremy Cline, Ken Noren, Jimmy Heffner

Steve Oldaker won The Hobby Stock B-Main. John Apgar took the green and the lead holding off Oldaker, Tom Eberle, Rick Cowart, Mitchell Mckinnon, Philip Connor & Mike Morgan.

Oldaker pulled ran side by side with Apgar taking over the lead at the half way and held on tight he took the checkered.

Mark Paterniti was declared The Mini Stock Feature winner after Travis Staats was disqualified. Staats battled with Mark Eldridge, Paterniti, Steve Moores, Rickie Riedel, Jackie Rhames & the full throttled field behind them. Positions continually changed as the entire field ran close & tight, forcing errors as they battled for the win. Staats who was running Keith Briggs car held on to take the checkered flag but was later DQ. Top Ten: Mark Paterniti, James McCague, Steve Moores, Rickie Riedel, Jackie Rhames, Charlie Staats, Lance Lee, Chris Day, Jim Nichols, Joey Froehlich

Ray Hunter won The Pure Stock Feature after Tommy Saunders was disqualified. Saunders took the lead on the green holding onto the top spot fighting off his hard charging competitors until the checkered was thrown. Hunter, William Smith, Melissa Smith, John Clegg & entire field of 24 swapped paint & positions the entire race. Saunders held off Hunter only by inches taking the win then losing after being DQ for not crossing the scales. Top Ten: Ray Hunter, William Smith, Melissa Smith, John Clegg, Andy Hicks, Benita Allman, Gary Hebrock Jr., Mike Nunnery, AJ Flores, Marvin Prentice
