Hialeah Mini-Stocks go to Lowery

HIALEAH, Fla. - Craig Seewald scored one for the Ford set Saturday night as he ran to the win in the 12 lap street stock feature event at Hialeah Speedway. Mike Kohut led early but Seewald had his Thunderbird in fine tune and grabbed the lead on lap three and sped to the victory. Point leader Rick Lutz got past Kohut for second on lap six and they ran to the stripe in that order.

Mini stock aciton saw Eddie Lowery power his Toyota to his second victory in three weeks as he easily topped the 25 lap main event. Lowery drove around leader Steve Quick on lap nine and never looked back. Quick drove steady for runner-up honors over Bill Calder, Tommy Styer and invader Jerry Adkison.

Victor Leo led wire to wire for his first cyclone score of the season. Point leader Roger Bohannon ran Leo down but had to settle for a close second ahead of Mike Powers, Heather Lunsford and Bryan Cook.

Young Ryan Dundas, a recent go-kart graduate, topped his elders in winning the 20 lap mini cup feature. Dundas drove under Mike Harrison for the top spot on lap 18 and hustled to the win. Harrison, Richard Crisafulli, Mike Fillmore and Gary Gallagher rounded out the top five runners.

Upcoming this week will be the 10th annual Alvin Lee Gosney Memorial for the late model sportsman cars.
