It's time to race!

Taylor 2-4-2 at Lake City

LAKE CITY: THE PURE STOCK FEATURE STARTED THE NIGHT OF RACING ACTION. TWO NEIGHBORS FROM MADISON FOUGHT FOR THE TITLE AND JOHN "BOY" WOOD (23) FINISHED AHEAD OF COLEMAN JANDLE III (65) FOR HIS FIRST EVER LAKE CITY SPEEDWAY WIN. THE WIN ALSO PUT JOHN AHEAD OF COLEMAN FOR THE POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP. TRENTON'S TROY DAVIS (38) HAD HIS BEST AND WORST FINISH OF THE YEAR. HE FINISHED THIRD IN THE RACE AND THEN WAS INVOLVED IN A 4 CAR TURN 1 PILE UP AFTER THE CHECKER FLAG. LARRY DAVIS OF TRENTON BROUGHT A NEW CAR TO THE TRACK AND BECAME THE FIRST PERSON THIS YEAR TO GO OVER THE TURN 3 WALL. (HE WAS STILL ABLE TO GET THE CAR TOGETHER AND FINISH 9TH IN THE 13 CAR FIELD.)

THE FLORIDA MODIFIEDS CAME BACK AFTER A SHORT BREAK. TALLAHASSEE'S CARLTON JACKSON (47), BROUGHT IN THE WIN AFTER A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE WITH MONTY MORGAN (46). PINETTA , GA'S ROBBIE MORSE (21) CAME IN THIRD IN THE FIVE CAR FIELD. BASED ON PROMISES FROM OTHER RACERS THIS CLASS WILL BE GROWING AS THE SEASON WINDS DOWN.

THE STREET STOCK SHOW SAW TRENTON'S SHANE TAYLOR WORK HIS MAGIC FOR HIS SECOND WIN IN TWO WEEKS. LAKE CITY'S DEAN SANDS (44) FINISHED SECOND AGAIN FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW. SOONER OR LATER DEAN WILL FIND SOME OF SHANE'S MAGIC. BELL'S QUINTON PHILMAN HELD OFF A FIESTY RACER "X" LAKE CITY'S WAYNO RISNER. THE HIGH SPRINGS WONDER JACKIE THOMPSON (55) HELD OFF A HARD CHARGE FROM LAKE CITY'S LEE BRINKLEY (37) TO HOLD ONTO FIFTH IN THE 14 CAR FIELD..

THE LATE MODEL SPORTSMEN FINISHED OUT THE NIGHT WITH SOME RACING THUNDER. LONNIE ROBERTS (81) OF SPARKS , GA FOUGHT OFF THE BRANFORD LEGEND RANCE PHILLIPS (27) FOR THE WIN. RANCE WAS LOOKING FOR HIS THIRD WIN IN A ROW.SINCE HE BROUGHT HIS NEW CAR DOWN FROM THE COUNTRY. . THE COUNTRY GENTLEMEN, BELL'S KELLY PHILMAN (83) FINISHED THIRD AHEAD OF RAY CITY, GA'S RICKY BOYD (68) WHO JUST MOVED FROM THRE STREET STOCK CLASS WITH A NEW CAR. NASHVILLE, GA'S KEVIN WHEELER (99) FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE. .

THE RACERS WILL TAKE THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND OFF. THE 8TH OF SEPTEMBER THEY WILL RETURN WITH THE MINI SPRINTS COMING TO TOWN.

THE TRACK WILL HAVE PLENTY OF RACING ACTION AS THE MUD DRAGS TRY A SATURDAY NIGHT ON SEPTEMBER 1.
