It's time to race!

FULL MOON FEVER STRUCK AT THE LAKE CITY SPEEDWAY.

LAKE CITY,FL; RACING STARTED WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE PREVIOUSLY RAINED OUT PURE STOCK RACE.. THE FOURTEEN CAR FIELD COMPLETED THE LAST TEN LAPS OF THE RACE WITH AN ALL MADISON 1,2,3 . COLEMAN JANDELE III (65) HELD OFF JOHN "BOY" WOOD (23). MIKE HAVARD (8)KEPT EVERY ONE HONEST WHILE FINISHING OUT THE TOP THREE. .


THE STREET STOCK RACERS TOOK TO THE TRACK TO FINISH THE RACE THAT THEY HAD SCHEDULED THE WEEK BEFORE. SHANE TAYLOR (82) LEAD 14 OF 15 LAPS BUT A LAST LAP SPIN HAD HIM FINISH TENTH; WHILE DEEP CREEK'S WAYNO RISNER (X) WON HIS FIRST RACE SINCE BEING OUT ALL SEASON, KEVIN TERRY (31) HAS BEEN WORKING OUT THE BUGS ON HIS CAR FOR THREE WEEKS & LOOKED LIKE HE GOT THE BUGS GONE WITH A SECOND PLACE FINISH. (A FLIP IN THE SECOND STREET STOCK FEATURE WOULD MAR HIS EVENING.) RICKY BOYD (31) OF RAY CITY, GA HAD HIS BEST FINISH THIS SEASON WITH A THIRD PLACE FINISH IN THE 15 CAR FIELD. (66) "WILD" BILL LOCKHART AND (55) JACKIE THOMPSON FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE.

THE MINI-SPRINT CARS SHOWED UP AND WANTED TO RACE. DELTONA'S ALLEN CRAIG (55) WAS LEADING ON LAP 5 WHEN HE TOUCHED TIRES WITH ORLANDO'S ED JAMES (46) AND ALLEN BARREL ROLLED AROUND TURNS THREE AND FOUR. HE TORE OFF HIS WING AND RAN TWO MORE LAPS BEFORE ROLLING A SECOND TIME. THIS TIME ALLEN PUT IT IN THE PITS. JOHN CRADDOCK OF ORLANDO (71) OUT LASTED JESSE TEED (7) AND THE TWELVE OTHER RACERS FOR THE WIN. LEESBURG'S STEVE CRABTREE (5) STAYED NIP & TUCK AHEAD OF GAINESVILLE'S RANDY CARRIER (8) TO FILL OUT THE TOP 4.

THE SECOND PURE STOCK FEATURE OF THE NIGHT SAW A REPEAT OF FIRST AND SECOND WITH COLEMAN JANDLE (65) AND JOHN "BOY" WOOD (23) AGAIN TAKING THE TOP HONORS. THIS TIME NEVIN GAINEY(0) OF FT. WHITE WORKED HIS WAY TO THIRD PLACE. DEEP CREEK'S GENE O'STEEN (9) DROVE THE JIMMY SINGLETARY CAR FOR FOURTH PLACE. CRAWFORDVILLE'S JIMMY MAYFIELD (69) FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE.

THE STREET STOCK SHOW SAW SHANE TAYLOR (82) OF TRENTON FLORIDA BATTLE WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYONE FOR HIS WIN. GAINESVILLE'S LUCIEN GAITHER'S "NINE" CAR STARTED AT THE TAIL & WORKED HIS WAY TO A SECOND PLACE FINISH. .HIGH SPRING'S JACKIE THOMPSON (55) BUFFALOED O'BRIEN'S "WILD" BILL LOCKHART (66) AS THEY TRADED PLACES FOR THIRD & FOURTH IN THEIR SECOND FEATURE MATCH UP. RICK REED (0) OF LAKE BUTLER FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE IN THE 15 CAR FIELD.

NO MOON NEXT WEEK SHOULD MAKE FOR GOOD RACING BUT NO ROLLS OR FLIPS. WITH REGULAR CLASSES & THE LATE MODEL SPORTSMEN.
