Coleman takes "Slippery" Pure Stock Win at Columbia

LAKE CITY, Fla. - It took Eddie Gainey only six laps to put the Norton No. 8 out front where he sped to an easy victory in the 25 lap Late Model Stock feature Saturday night at Columbia Motorsports Park. Shannon Adams pace the first five circuits on the half-mile oval but gave way to Gainey's charge. Adams claimed runner-up money over Chris Tedder, Jason Garver and Michael Haigh.

Florida Modified action saw Roger Webb the victor as he needed but a half dozen laps to gain the point and then drove to the win in the 20 lap headliner. Many time division champion J.F. McClellan claimed second money ahead of Mike Bennett, Shannon Smith and early leader Rick McManaway.

The always competitive Street Stock main saw John Mitchell pace the first four laps but nothing would stop Gale Grayer this night as he took the point on lap five an never looked back. The win was Grayer's first ever at the track. Charles Seroki was second in the 20 lap run over Shane Taylor, Randall Jackson and Brad Fiene.

Fluid on the track at the start of the 20 lap Pure Stock event saw cars spinning all over the place but once things settled down it was Danny Coleman the man with the plan as he took the top spot on lap four from L.H. Davis and never looked back. William Jerkins, Nevin Gainey, Rod Nixon and Trish Berry rounded out the top five.
