Linda Schmal takes 100 lap Enduro @ Hialeah

HIALEAH, FL - Street Stock points leader, Rick Lutz wrestled the lead from T.C. McElyea on lap five, and sped to his second victory of the season in the 25-lap main event Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway. McElyea fought an ill-handling car and could not hold off the pressures of Lutz who never put a wheel wrong all evening. McElyea held on for second money, his best run of the season, over Jeff Bradley, Mike Orth and Michael Kohut.

The Mini-Stock battle between Buddy Sizemore and David Russell, which has raged since the season began, continued this week with Sizemore getting to the point on lap three. He blasted around early leader, Richard Thomas, and drove to his third win of the year. Russell followed closely to gain runner-up money in the 25-lapper over rookie Tommy Styer, Thomas and Bill Miner.

Keith Vitale proved to be the best of the 23-car Cyclone field as he chased Thomas Good for the first six laps before taking the lead and easily driving away from the field for his first win of the season in the 25-lap main. Bill Flanagan turned in another good drive for second money in front of new point leader Roger Pfau, Frank Kelliher and George Morales.

The ladies proved to be dominant in the 100-lap Enduro as Susan Reid paced many laps before crashing into a stalled car as Linda Schmal then took command and ran to the victory. Tony Barreca checkered second ahead of Ken Rickert, Mark McCullough and Ryan Klinger.
