Steve Dielmann Tops 30 Car Cyclone Field At Hialeah

by Marty Little
Dude Teate hustled around leader Joey Aguilar on lap 18 and went on to claim a convincing victory in the 25 lap TBARA sprint car feature Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.

Following a trio of attempts to get the feature underway, pole sitter Aguilar paced the 17 car field with Jimmy Alvis and Teate in tow. Teate poked the nose of his car around Alvis before finally getting past on lap 17 and one round later he rammed his colorful winged machine to the top spot. Once in front Teate was never headed as he hustled to his first win of the season. Alvis kept a cool head and collected runner-up money over Doug Heveron, points leader Bo Hartley and Dave Pletcher. Heat wins went to Teate and Aguilar.

Gary Padula notched his second 25 lap street stock feature of the season as he topped Mike Orth, Richie Henry, Robbye McCoy and Ron Wilson.

The mini stock main fell to points leader David Russell and he continues to dominate the four cylinder runners with his fourth win of the year. Tim Jones gave chase but came up short in the 25 lapper over Scott Rogers, Jim Miner and Jake Reedy.

Veteran Steve Dielmann topped the huge 30 car cyclone field for his first win in nearly a year. Up front early, Dielmann topped Harvey Freeman, new point leader Roger Pfau, Heather Lunsford and Mike Powers in the 25 lap event.

The gals got together for a special Powder Puff 15 lappper and when the checkers waved it was Patty Franquiz the victor ahead of Elizabeth Freeman, Kim Pike, Lisa Covington and Johnna Crehan.
