Florida Pro Series Show At DeSoto

Florida Pro Series point leader Dick Anderson scored his seventh victory of the season with a dominating performance Saturday night at DeSoto Speedway in winning the Florida Pro Series 125 late model headliner.

Fast qualifier Anderson drew the five pill for the start as outstanding rookie Mike Bresnahan set the early pace from the outsdie of the front row and the 24 car field blasted around the 3/8 mile banked oval. On lap 28 journeyman driver Kenny Vaughn spun in turn two right in front of Bresnahan.

The leader elected to go high with Vaughn rolling up the bank to nail Bresnahan to the concrete and end his night in frustration. When the green flew again Jeff Sloan became the new leader with Anderson in his shadow. On lap 55, again in turn two, Sloan spun as Anderson went low and Jimmy Cope high to move into first and second respectively.

When the field went back to action Anderson turned up the wick and never gave Cope a chance to make a move and they ran to the checkers in the same order. Rick Carlton claimed third money over Jeffery Dufresne and Rich Pratt. Rounding out the top 10 were Lee Collins, Shane Sawyer, Sloan, Scot Walters and Billy Mowery.

The 12 event season comes to an end on Dec. 2 with the Sunoco Suwannee Truss 200 at Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City.
