RACE RESULTS FROM HIALEAH SPEEDWAY

by Marty Little
HIALEAH, Fla. - John Bentley finally worked the bugs out of his new street stock and lead all 25 laps to capture the feature event Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway. Starting from the pole, Bentley never put a wheel wrong all evening in capturing his first victroy of the season. Trailing in his tire tracks were Ron Wilson, Rick Lutz, Gary Padula and Mikeal Kohut.

The strongest mini stock field of the year took the green in the small car headliner with Bill Calder in command for the first five laps. At that point young Tommy Styer drove into the lead and never looked back in scoring his first career win at the famed track. Many time track champion David Russell was second in the 25 lapper over point leader Eddie Lowery, Tim Jones and Calder.

Tony Crowder took advantage of an up front starting spot to pace all 25 laps in winning the cyclone finale. Frank Kelliher filled Crowder's mirrow but settled for runner-up honors ahead of Roger Bohannon, Chad Orth and Harvey Freeman.

The speedway will be closed this weekend (11-24) but will resume on Dec. 1 for the final three weeks of the season.
